Job summary

The City of Burlington seeks a Direct Service / Case Coordination professional to provide trauma-informed, victim-centered advocacy, case management, and resource coordination for victims within Chittenden County.

Based in the South Burlington CCCJC office, the role collaborates with municipalities, police, and partner agencies; remote work up to one day per week is available and the position advances Parallel Justice services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant professional experience in victim advocacy, restorative justice, or related services.
  • Knowledge of crime victim issues, trauma-informed care, and restorative justice principles.
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with municipal agencies, law enforcement, community organizations, and service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive Parallel Justice and victim services utilizing trauma-informed, victim-centered approaches.
  • Collaborate with CCCJC staff, municipal partners, law enforcement, community organizations, and victim service providers.
  • Engage victims through established program processes, assessing needs and providing advocacy and referrals.
  • Provide crisis intervention and safety planning when appropriate.
  • Assist victims navigating the criminal legal system including restorative justice and victim compensation.
  • Serve as a liaison among victims, criminal justice partners, and service providers.
  • Develop partnerships to expand resources and improve access to services.
  • Support victims in CCCJC programs including restitution and restorative processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate records per policies and grants requirements.
  • Stay current on best practices in victim services and restorative justice.
