Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking a Vice President of Utility Development to lead power and grid-related delivery for a growing US data center portfolio. You will own interconnection strategy, negotiate tariffs and drive energy capacity from diligence through energization.

You will build and manage relationships with utilities, transmission owners and EPC partners, while guiding budgets, schedules and risk across multiple projects. A senior leader with deep industry ties is essential.

Responsabilidades

• Lead utility development across a portfolio of large-scale data centers from diligence to energization.

• Negotiate interconnection, tariffs and major infrastructure contracts.
• Oversee due diligence, capacity, cost, schedule and risk assessments.
• Own delivery against schedules including grid upgrades and milestones.
• Build relationships with utilities, EPCs and equipment suppliers.
• Manage budgets, forecasts and risk reporting for the portfolio.
• Collaborate with Development, Engineering, Construction, Legal and Operations.

With an expanding pipeline of power-intensive developments, the business is strengthening its leadership team to secure utility capacity, accelerate site readiness and deliver critical infrastructure at scale.

The Role

As Vice President – Utility Development, you will:

• Lead utility development across a portfolio of large-scale data center projects from site diligence through energization
• Direct relationships with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, transmission owners, municipalities and other critical infrastructure stakeholders
• Secure power capacity, leading interconnection strategy, grid assessment and utility negotiations across new and active developments
• Negotiate interconnection agreements, service agreements, tariffs and major infrastructure contracts
• Direct utility due diligence, assessing capacity, cost, schedule, infrastructure requirements and development risk
• Own utility delivery against project schedules, including grid upgrades, interconnection milestones and critical equipment dependencies
• Build strategic relationships with utilities, EPC partners and high- and medium-voltage equipment suppliers
• Drive utility budgets, forecasts and risk reporting across the portfolio
• Partner with Development, Engineering, Construction, Legal and Operations to move projects from opportunity through execution
• Build the utility development capability, standards and relationships required to support continued portfolio growth

The Person

You will bring:

• Significant experience in utility development, power infrastructure or grid-connected development within data centers, mission-critical infrastructure or other large-load environments
• A proven track record of securing substantial power capacity and delivering complex utility infrastructure through energization
• Deep relationships and experience working with utilities, ISOs/RTOs and transmission owners
• Strong knowledge of interconnections, grid capacity, transmission and distribution infrastructure, tariffs and service agreements
• Proven success negotiating complex utility, EPC and infrastructure agreements
• Strong commercial judgement across cost, schedule, risk and infrastructure investment
• The leadership presence to influence utilities, municipalities, suppliers and senior internal stakeholders
• Experience operating across development, engineering and construction with clear accountability for delivery
