Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Director of Surgical Services in Denver, CO, onsite. You will lead strategic planning, drive patient safety, and oversee unit operations, capacity, and budgets for a multi-hospital surgical services program with 23 ORs and approximately 750 surgeries per month.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in Surgical Services, with 2–3+ years at director level. Master’s degree preferred; strong leadership and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree – Required.
• Master's Degree or approved education plan – Preferred.
• 5+ years of applicable Surgical Services experience – Required.
• Acute Care experience – Required.
• 2–3+ years of Director-level leadership experience – Required.
• 23 Operating Rooms
• 13 ORs in the Main OR and 10 ORs at a separate hospital location
• Approximately 750 surgeries per month
• Primarily elective outpatient procedures
• Key specialties include bariatrics, orthopedics, GYN, plastics, and reconstruction
• Director of Surgical Services reports to the VP
• 3 managers report to the Director of Surgical Services

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and business development for Surgical Services.
• Drive evidence-based practices, patient safety, quality, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Oversee nursing practice, unit operations, patient throughput, and capacity planning.
• Develop strategies to enhance patient and employee experience.
• Partner with physicians and administrative leadership to expand and improve services.
• Lead talent development, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
• Manage operational and capital budgets, productivity, staffing, and cost-reduction strategies.
• Monitor healthcare industry trends, reimbursement, regulatory requirements, and competitive factors.
• Develop external relationships and referral networks to support service-line growth.

Job description

Pay Range: $156582 - $200000/annum.
