This leader will build and direct an integrated communications function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the company narrative across investors, regulators, industry partners, media, and employees, positioning the business as a defining leader in its category
  • Serve as a senior company spokesperson, building relationships with top-tier business and trade media
  • Direct proactive media strategy tied to major milestones, program updates, and partnership announcements
  • Lead communications planning and real-time execution for high-visibility, high-stakes company moments, including contingency and post-event communications
  • Build and maintain a crisis communications framework covering operational, regulatory, and reputational risk, and provide direct counsel to the CEO and executive team in sensitive, investor-facing moments
  • Manage executive visibility programs, including speaking engagements, media appearances, and thought leadership, alongside internal communications that keep a fast-growing, distributed workforce aligned
  • Oversee brand, digital, and content strategy across owned channels, building one of the more compelling brand stories in the category
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing communications team across multiple locations, managing agency relationships and the communications budget
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public affairs, or a related field; 15+ years of progressive communications leadership, including 5+ years at the VP level or equivalent in-house
  • Demonstrated success leading communications for a high-growth, high-visibility company in a technically complex, capital-intensive environment
  • Proven crisis communications leadership in safety-critical or high public-scrutiny environments
  • Experience supporting major corporate milestones such as fundraising, large contract wins, or international expansion
  • Established relationships with national business and trade media, with on-the-record spokesperson experience
  • Track record building and leading communications teams of 10 or more across multiple functions and geographies
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with sound judgment under pressure
  • Strong organizational discipline, able to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • High EQ, with the ability to collaborate across teams and functions
  • International communications experience is a plus
