Overview

We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering and Applications. The focus of the job will be back-end systems of both internal and third party software applications. As a technology leader the right candidate oversees ERP, CRM and custom build core architecture in a multi-cloud, multi-entity environment. Our client is a leader in the Insurance vertical with focus on Property and Casualty Insurance. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, ensuring reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of core system architecture and engineering. Candidate with direct experience in similar Insurance and financial services verticals will merit first consideration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering strategy, architecture, application development, DevOps, and delivery practices.
• Drive modernization of core business platforms, digital portals, and cloud-native applications.
• Build and scale multi-tenant platforms capable of supporting multiple client organizations.
• Oversee complex data conversions, migrations, and integrations with a focus on security and business continuity.
• Advance adoption of CI/CD, microservices, and cloud-native SaaS solutions.
• Ensure financial discipline, cost optimization, and value-driven technology investments.
• Collaborate closely with business leaders to deliver pragmatic, scalable solutions that improve customer, agent, and employee experience.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams.

Required Technology and Skills

• 15+ years of progressive technology leadership, ideally with experience in large-scale application engineering and cloud/SaaS platforms.
• Proven success leading modernization, digital transformation, and multi-tenant platform initiatives.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, DevOps, CI/CD, microservices, and data security/compliance.
• Experience managing large engineering teams and budgets in complex, multi-client or shared services environments.
• Strong track record of delivering measurable business outcomes through technology innovation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
• Strategic yet execution-focused, with a roll-up-the-sleeves approach.
• Strong communicator and collaborator across business and technology.
• Passion for building high-performing teams and delivering great user experiences.

Compensation

The target range for base salary is $250,000-$265,0000 + 30% Bonus
