Overview

This position will advise on strategy as well as manage accounts and projects across several social media and communications focused clients.

The role will provide creative direction and oversight to ensure all content, campaigns, and community management efforts align with client brand objectives while guiding clients on social media best practices, platform trends, data-driven performance analysis, and reputation management. The role will also provide executive positioning and thought leadership expertise, responsible for strategic counsel and content development to drive executive visibility.

A successful candidate will have experience leading accounts and multifaceted social media campaigns, possess exceptional interpersonal skills, and excel in project management, external storytelling, and content development. Strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple teams and priorities under tight deadlines, and a collaborative, agile mindset are essential. Candidates with expertise in fostering social media management, navigating digital trends and building executive visibility will be prioritized.

The position will be based in Washington, DC, where our culture includes being in the office 3 days a week.

Qualifications
  • 8–10 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, public affairs, digital/social media, or political communications.
  • Proven ability to provide creative direction and oversight for content across social platforms and internal and external communications channels to ensure alignment with client brand vision and objectives.
  • Experience building and managing engaged online communities across social media platforms.
  • Deep understanding of leading social platforms, algorithms, emerging trends, privacy policies, and best practices – particularly LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Experience with social crisis response and reputation management in digital environments.
  • Proficiency in data analysis to measure campaign performance and generate actionable insights.
  • Experience in creating compelling narratives, identifying creative event and partnership opportunities and providing strategic council to support executive positioning.
  • Excellent client relationship and interpersonal skills, including effective team management, direct client engagement, mentorship and training of junior staff, and the ability to maintain composure and high-quality output under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated account and campaign management abilities, including relationship building, team leadership, and financial oversight.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with experience developing both short- and long-form content.
  • Proven track record of identifying growth opportunities and collaborating with teams to implement new initiatives.
  • Account and budget management experience – familiarity with agency billing practices, scoping projects and managing budgets.

The anticipated salary range for the Vice President level is $115,000 - $155,000

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications and geography. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off and/or other benefits also are available.

$115-$155K

Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager. Our objective is to increase this requirement over time, and many of our agencies as well as Omnicom’s corporate group already require five days of in-office attendance.
