PsychPlus is seeking a Vice President of Revenue Cycle to own end-to-end revenue cycle strategy, execution, and performance optimization across a complex, multi-entity healthcare environment.

The role requires leading front-end intake and eligibility, mid-cycle coding and charge capture, and back-end billing, collections, and denials while establishing KPIs such as days in A/R, clean claim rate, and denial rate.

Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of progressive revenue cycle leadership experience in healthcare.
  • Deep expertise across the full RCM lifecycle (front, mid, back-end).
  • Experience in multi-site, multi-state provider organizations (behavioral health preferred).
  • Proven track record improving collections, reducing denials, and scaling operations.
  • Strong operator mindset—able to execute, not just strategize.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Vice President of Revenue Cycle will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of the revenue cycle function, including strategy, execution, and performance optimization. This role is highly operational and requires a leader who can both architect scalable systems and drive day-to-day performance across a complex, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own full revenue cycle performance: front-end (intake, eligibility, authorization), mid-cycle (coding, charge capture), and back-end (billing, collections, denials)
  • Establish and enforce KPIs across all functions (e.g., days in A/R, clean claim rate, denial rate, cash collections)
  • Build scalable processes to support rapid geographic and service line expansion

Operational Execution

  • Lead and manage internal RCM teams and third-party vendors
  • Standardize workflows across markets and entities
  • Implement accountability structures, reporting cadence, and performance management systems
  • Identify and eliminate revenue leakage across the lifecycle

Payer & Reimbursement Strategy

  • Partner with contracting to optimize reimbursement rates and payer mix
  • Develop strategies to improve collections and reduce write-offs
  • Oversee denial management and appeals strategy

Systems & Infrastructure

  • Optimize and integrate EHR, billing, and RCM platforms
  • Drive automation and technology adoption across the revenue cycle
  • Ensure data integrity and real-time visibility into performance

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to all federal and state billing regulations
  • Maintain audit readiness and minimize compliance risk
  • Partner with legal and compliance teams on policy development

Growth & Integration

  • Lead revenue cycle integration for acquisitions and new market launches
  • Build scalable onboarding processes for new clinics and providers
  • Support diligence and integration efforts in partnership with leadership

Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of progressive revenue cycle leadership experience in healthcare
  • Deep expertise across the full RCM lifecycle (front, mid, back-end)
  • Experience in multi-site, multi-state provider organizations (behavioral health preferred)
  • Proven track record improving collections, reducing denials, and scaling operations
  • Strong operator mindset—able to execute, not just strategize
  • Experience managing both internal teams and outsourced vendors
  • Familiarity with EHR/RCM platforms and data-driven decision-making
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
