Job description

Taft Brown Associates has partnered with a behavioral health organization for a Vice President of Revenue Cycle search.

As the Vice President of Revenue Cycle, you will have enterprise-wide responsibility for maximizing revenue realization, improving cash flow, reducing revenue leakage, strengthening billing and collections performance, and creating a more standardized, scalable, and data-driven revenue cycle infrastructure across the organization.

You will oversee the full revenue cycle continuum, including patient access and registration, insurance verification and eligibility, authorization, charge capture, coding, claims submission, payment posting, accounts receivable, denials and appeals, collections, payer relationships, and revenue-cycle analytics and reporting.

You will bring deep healthcare revenue cycle expertise, preferably within behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, outpatient healthcare, addiction treatment, or another complex multi-site healthcare environment. Experience with Medicaid and other government payers, commercial insurance, multiple states, multiple levels of care, and highly regulated healthcare environments is particularly valuable.

This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership opportunity. The successful candidate will establish the vision and operating model for the organization’s revenue cycle function while also driving measurable improvements in execution, accountability, technology utilization, processes, and financial performance.

  • Establish a consistent revenue cycle operating model across the organization’s diverse service lines, brands, facilities, and geographic markets.
  • Lead the transformation of revenue cycle operations from a primarily transactional function into a strategic business partner to operations, finance, clinical leadership, and executive management.
  • Establish clear ownership, accountability, performance expectations, and standardized processes throughout the revenue cycle.
  • Identify opportunities to improve net revenue, cash collections, working capital, and overall financial performance.
  • Develop scalable revenue cycle infrastructure capable of supporting continued organic growth, new locations, service-line expansion, and acquisitions.

  • Analyze reimbursement trends by payer, state, facility, service line, and level of care.

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators that provide leadership with clear visibility into revenue-cycle performance.
  • Establish appropriate benchmarks and performance targets for the organization and individual revenue cycle teams.
Accounts Receivable, Denials & Collections
  • Provide executive oversight of accounts receivable performance across the organization.
  • Develop strategies to reduce aging AR and accelerate cash conversion.
