Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH) was formed in 2021 to support, promote, and enhance Minor League Baseball through professional management, best practices, innovation and investment.

Diamond Baseball Holdings is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Merchandise Operations to lead our in-venue and e-commerce retail strategy across our nationwide portfolio of Minor League Baseball clubs. This role is responsible for overseeing a $30M+ merchandise business with the objective of driving top-line growth and improving operational efficiency across channels. The ideal candidate will combine data-driven decision making with servant leadership to partner effectively with club leadership and vendors in building a best-in-class retail experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic & Financial Leadership

• Lead and grow in-venue and e-commerce merchandise operations to achieve revenue and profitability goals
• Develop and execute merchandise plans including assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies
• Use data and KPIs to inform business decisions, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement
• Monitor and analyze dashboards of retail/e-commerce metrics, implementing strategic initiatives to address performance gaps

Operational Excellence

• Oversee inventory optimization, POS integration, and working capital management across multiple locations
• Establish best practices for store operations, replenishment processes, and labor management for both full-time and seasonal staff
• Partner with clubs to ensure consistency and profitability in retail operations while honoring local context and needs
• Serve as a servant leader and influencer, working through General Managers and their teams to implement merchandising strategies
• Build strong, trusting relationships across clubs to foster adoption of shared practices and standards
• Manage vendor relationships, ensuring consistent supply chain execution and innovation in merchandise offerings

Travel & Site Engagement

• Travel frequently to Minor League clubs across the Southeast, Northeast, West, and Midwest to support retail operations and club collaboration

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience leading retail and e-commerce operations with $30M+ in revenue
• Proven ability to grow revenue and profitability through merchandising strategy, marketing, and operational efficiencies
• Strong command of retail analytics, KPIs, and dashboards with a demonstrated ability to synthesize insights and act
• Direct experience in in-store operations including inventory management and labor optimization
• Demonstrated servant leadership and history of leading through influence, especially in decentralized or matrixed environments
• Experience managing vendor relationships across a broad supply chain
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and tools such as CMS, A/B testing tools, or personalization software
• Prior experience running pricing or promotional optimization experiments
• Ability to learn new technology platforms and apply them to improve customer experience and sales
• Prior experience in the sports industry or with sports-related retail/apparel brands
• Experience overseeing a multi-location retail footprint with varied store types, hours, and customer access
• Background in managing retail for a diverse set of brands or large SKU portfolios
