Job Overview

BNY Mellon Investment Management Holdings, LLC seeks a Senior Vice President, IM Research in Pittsburgh, PA, to coordinate a significant portion of research activity for a major investment area. The role involves independently conducting investment research studies, analyzing individual securities and classes of securities, developing quantitative decision‑making models, and making buy, sell, hold, and recommendation decisions. The incumbent will provide judgment in the field of securities, consistently deliver strong performance, coordinate capital in investment funds, author and present investment theses, and liaise with management, suppliers, competitors, and customers of companies being researched. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investment research studies independently and author investment theses.
• Analyze individual securities and classes of securities, and develop quantitative decision‑making models.
• Make buy, sell, hold, and recommendation decisions.
• Coordinate capital in investment funds.
• Provide judgment in securities and consistently deliver strong performance.
• Author and present investment thesis and other published and distributed works.
• Liaise with management, suppliers, competitors, and customers of researched companies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computational Finance, Engineering (any), or a related field.
• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the financial services industry, including:
  • Utilizing risk‑management frameworks involving Value at Risk (VaR) and stress testing/scenario analysis (historical, parametric, Monte Carlo).
  • Handling commercial frameworks such as Aladdin, Barra, or Axioma.
  • Understanding risk drivers of major asset classes (equities, fixed income, securitized assets, derivatives).
  • Understanding risk and performance drivers of global multi‑asset portfolios, FX risk, and market hedges.
• Three (3) years of experience in:
  • Analyzing and validating unexpected results, performing root‑cause analysis, and leveraging data analysis.
  • Using productivity tools including Excel VBA macros, Python, and SQL.
  • Utilizing economic and financial leverage mechanics and investment strategies (active/passive, liquid and illiquid alternatives, directional, long/short, relative value, structured, derivatives vs cash).

Compensation

Base salary is expected to be $155,500.00 per year at the commencement of employment. Salary will be individualized based on experience and market location and may include commissions, discretionary bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentive packages, and company‑sponsored benefit programs.
