The Research Analyst will play a crucial role in our Event Driven Team, contributing to the evaluation and analysis of M&A transactions and investment opportunities. Working closely with Portfolio Managers, the successful candidate will delve into the legal, tax, and regulatory aspects of deals, assessing their impact on deal outcomes and profit potential. Responsibilities


  • Support Portfolio Managers in evaluating M&A transactions, including deal terms and consideration structure.

  • Conduct fundamental research on transaction parties, reviewing merger agreements, proxy statements, and company filings.

  • Analyze legal, tax, and regulatory factors affecting deal completion and timing.

  • Build and maintain financial models and spread/return scenarios for existing and prospective positions.

  • Monitor active positions, tracking regulatory developments, company fundamentals, and market news.

  • Assist in sizing and structuring positions across equities, options, and other instruments.

  • Prepare written summaries and updates on deal status for internal discussions and risk reviews.

  • Maintain and enhance the team's tools and databases for tracking merger arbitrage deals.

  • Collaborate with analysts, traders, and risk management professionals in a fast-paced environment.
