Qualifications

About the Team

The Investment Research Team sits at the critical intersection of fundamental equity analysis, primary intelligence, and compliance. Partnering directly with Portfolio Managers, Analysts, and our Compliance organization, the team conducts rigorous, compliant qualitative research across global supply chains. By developing deep sub-industry expertise and engaging directly with private company executives and industry specialists, the team uncovers differentiated insights and inflection points that inform high-conviction investment decisions.

Position Overview

We are seeking a high-caliber Investment Research Associate to expand the depth, scale, and strategic impact of our research platform. In this role, you will work closely with Leadership and Equity Investment teams to interrogate investment theses, identify market blind spots, and synthesize complex primary data into actionable intelligence.

This role offers exceptional visibility into the investment process, direct exposure to industry executives, and the opportunity to become a subject-matter specialist in critical market verticals.

Key Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships and conduct structured, compliant qualitative interviews with private company executives, supply chain participants, and sector specialists via expert networks, industry conferences, and proprietary sourcing.
• Partner closely with Investment Professionals to understand active investment theses, test variant perceptions, and identify critical operational or supply chain blind spots.
• Build and maintain thorough domain expertise across targeted sub-industries, mapping value chains, competitive dynamics, and structural trends.
• Synthesize primary interview findings and qualitative data points into concise, high-impact research notes and thematic reports that highlight key inflection points and commercial risks.
• Champion and adhere to the industry’s highest ethical and compliance standards, strictly executing all protocols governing primary and supply chain research interactions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree with a demonstrated track record of strong academic achievement.
• 0-3 years of experience in primary research, management consulting, expert network, investment banking, equity research, or related roles. Specific sector expertise is not required.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to distill dense, qualitative conversations into sharp, executive-level summaries.
• Instinctive business acumen, intellectual agility, and an investigative mindset focused on validating conclusions and uncovering non-obvious insights.
• Outstanding organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple research workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

In accordance with applicable law, the base salary range for this role is approximately $100,000 to $160,000. In addition, the employee who fills this role will be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive compensation program, as well as a wide array of benefit programs, such as medical and life insurance, retirement and tax -free savings plans, and access to other healthcare programs.
