Job summary

Blue Owl Capital is seeking a detail oriented, strategic accounting professional to manage one of its digital infrastructure closed end private equity funds. The VP will institutionalize best practices, oversee GAAP reporting, and collaborate with a global, high-performing team.

The role requires seven+ years in PE real estate accounting, experience with complex fund structures, and coordination with third-party administrators.

Qualifications

• Seven plus years of private equity real estate accounting experience.
• Understanding of complex fund structures including foreign currency exposure and hedging.
• Knowledge of REIT rules and tax implications, a plus.

• Fair value accounting background.

• Enhance internal controls and procedures to support scalable operations.
• Build processes with software and AI tools to automate schedules and reconciliations.

Job Description

Blue Owl is looking for a detail oriented, hands on and strategic accounting professional to manage one of their digital infrastructure closed end private equity funds. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company experiencing tremendous growth. The qualified Vice President will help the Company institutionalize existing practices and work with a highly collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Lead accurate, GAAP‑compliant financial reporting for property‑level and fund‑level entities, including parallel funds and SPVs, ensuring timely delivery, proper presentation, reconciliations, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
• Review and manage fund administrator deliverables, including journal entries, capital calls, distributions, NAV calculations, and investor pricing, ensuring adherence to fund documents and reporting deadlines.
• Manage global audit, tax, and regulatory filing processes (including Cayman, Jersey, and Luxembourg), coordinating with external auditors, fund administrators, and tax advisors.
• Serve as a primary accounting contact for lenders and institutional investors, including debt compliance reporting, investor reporting, and responses to financial inquiries.
• Prepare and present accounting, budgeting, reporting, and accounting system matters to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Oversee forecasting, cash flow planning, and fund return calculations to support investment performance monitoring and decision‑making.
• Interpret limited partnership agreements, waterfall provisions, and financing documents to calculate investor returns, preferred returns, and carried interest.
• Monitor and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and support scalable operations.
• Build new processes from the ground up using software and AI tools to automate and reduce errors in population of supporting schedules, reconciliations, and review of financial reporting deliverables.
• Work directly with portfolio company accounting teams to reconcile various aspects of property level reporting to Blue Owl fund reporting monthly.
• Assist with actual cash flow inputs to valuation models and communicate with deal teams on deviations from expectations
• Review reporting submissions including AUM, returns, deployments, FX exposure, liquidity, etc.

Qualifications

• Experience working with third-party fund administrators.
• “Fair value” accounting background.
• Understanding of debt agreements.
• Ability to efficiently utilize excel spreadsheets and accounting software systems.
• Experience interpreting limited partnership agreement, long terms lease and mortgages.
• Experience with reporting investment activity to institutional investors.
• Experience with Luxembourg, Cayman Islands, and Jersey filing requirements preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with teams working in multiple locations both in the US and abroad.
• Strong ability to multitask and respond to urgent information requests while keeping weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting tasks on schedule.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• CPA preferred.

The base annual salary range for this Dallas and Chicago-based position will be $165,000-175,000. Actual salary offered will be based on the candidate’s skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
