Job summary

LVI Associates in Dallas, TX seeks a Vice President / Principal to lead and grow its Land Development practice across North Texas. This senior role focuses on strategic leadership, client relations, and project delivery for complex developments.

You will mentor staff, drive business development, oversee proposals and budgets, and set market expansion plans while collaborating with executive leadership to shape long-term growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
  • 15+ years in civil engineering and land development.
  • Proven success leading land development projects in Texas.
  • Strong relationships with developers, homebuilders, commercial clients and public agencies.
  • Business development and revenue generation experience.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring future leaders.
  • Understanding of site development, grading, drainage, utilities, permitting and construction.
  • Experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as senior leader and Principal-in-Charge for major land development projects in North Texas.
  • Drive business development, identify opportunities, and expand client relationships.
  • Lead proposal development, fee negotiations, contracts, and client engagement.
  • Oversee project managers and technical teams for delivery, quality, budget and satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop engineering professionals at all levels.
  • Provide strategic leadership for growth, staffing, forecasting and performance.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on market expansion strategies.
  • Monitor project performance, financial metrics, utilization and risk.
  • Support entitlement, permitting, design, construction administration and closeout.

A nationally recognised employee-owned engineering, planning, and design consultancy is seeking a Vice President / Principal to lead and grow its Land Development practice across the Dallas-Fort Worth market.

This is a high-impact leadership role for an established Texas land development professional who excels in business development, client management, team leadership, and project delivery. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, expanding client relationships, mentoring technical staff, and shaping the long‑term strategic direction of the practice.

The firm offers the backing of a multi‑disciplinary platform with offices across multiple states, providing national resources while maintaining a strong local presence and entrepreneurial culture.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Serve as the senior leader and Principal‑in‑Charge for major land development projects throughout North Texas.
  • Drive business development efforts, identify new opportunities, and expand relationships with developers, municipalities, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Lead proposal development, fee negotiations, contract execution, and client engagement activities.
  • Oversee project managers and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery, quality control, budget performance, and client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop engineering professionals at all levels of the organisation.
  • Provide strategic leadership for practice growth, staffing, forecasting, and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to establish market expansion strategies and long‑term growth initiatives.
  • Monitor project performance, financial metrics, utilisation, and risk management objectives.
  • Support entitlement, permitting, design, construction administration, and project closeout activities as needed.
  • Maintain a visible presence within industry organisations and the Texas development community.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licence in Texas.
  • 15+ years of experience within civil engineering and land development.
  • Proven success leading land development projects throughout Texas.
  • Strong existing relationships with developers, homebuilders, commercial clients, and public agencies.
  • Demonstrated business development and revenue generation experience.
  • Track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and mentoring future leaders.
  • Strong understanding of site development, grading, drainage, utilities, permitting, and construction processes.
  • Excellent communication, client management, and leadership abilities.
  • Experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD is beneficial but not required.
