Ares Management Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Cloud, DevOps, and Operations team in New York. You will design, build, automate, and support cloud-based infrastructure and applications powering critical services.

You will work with cross-functional teams to improve platform reliability, security, and scalability, driving automation-first solutions across the stack and contributing to system architecture decisions.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence while driving automation-first solutions across the technology stack.Candidates should possess strong development experience, hands-on cloud expertise, and a passion for building resilient, highly automated environments.Reporting RelationshipsReports To:Crew Lead, Cloud / DevOps / OperationsDirect Reports:NonePrimary Functions & ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain software solutions, cloud infrastructure, and automation capabilities that support business and technology objectives.Build and manage cloud-native infrastructure leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline application delivery and improve deployment reliability.Support enterprise platforms and applications through advanced Level 3 production support and incident resolution.Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure platform health and operational stability.Partner with development, architecture, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.Contribute to system architecture discussions and technical decision-making.Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and platform resiliency initiatives.Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and best practices to improve engineering capabilities.Required QualificationsExperience5+ years of professional software engineering experience.2+ years of experience working within a large-scale enterprise environment.Experience designing, developing, and supporting distributed applications and services.Experience working within Agile and DevOps-focused delivery organizations.Demonstrated experience across the software development lifecycle, from design through production support.Full-stack development experience is preferred.Technical SkillsProficiency in two or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or similar.Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.Experience with source control platforms including GitHub and/or GitLab.Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tooling.Experience with Kubernetes and containerized application deployment.Experience using Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code technologies.Experience with monitoring and observability tools.Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating environments.Experience working with Jira or other Agile project management and issue-tracking platforms.Professional CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.Demonstrated ownership mentality with a focus on quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.Strong commitment to operational excellence and customer service.Preferred QualificationsAzure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or equivalent).Experience with cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical production systems.Experience with automated testing frameworks and DevSecOps practices.Financial services industry experience is a plus.Reporting RelationshipsGlobal Head of Infrastructure and Platform EngineeringCompensationThe anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.$200,000 - $225,000The firm also offers robust Benefits offerings.
