Beam Therapeutics Inc. in Cambridge, MA, is seeking a VP of Patient Operations to shape strategy and oversee scheduling and apheresis operations for next-generation therapies.
This leader will drive a cell therapy orchestration platform, coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, IT and other teams, and ensure a superior patient and provider experience. Ideal candidates have 17+ years in pharma/biotech with 12+ years in leadership roles, and proven experience in autologous cell therapy
Beam Therapeutics is a biotechnology company committed to establishing the leading, fully integrated platform for precision genetic medicines. To achieve this vision, Beam has assembled a platform with integrated gene editing, delivery and internal manufacturing capabilities. Beam’s suite of gene editing technologies is anchored by base editing, a proprietary technology that is designed to enable precise, predictable and efficient single base changes, at targeted genomic sequences, without making double‑stranded breaks in the DNA. This has the potential to enable a wide range of therapeutic editing strategies that Beam is using to advance a diversified portfolio of base editing programs. Beam is a values‑driven organization committed to its people, cutting‑edge science, and a vision of providing life‑long cures to patients suffering from serious diseases.
Beam is looking for a highly motivated, strategic, and collaborative leader to join our growing Commercial team. The VP, Patient Operations, will shape the strategy, build and oversee the execution of patient scheduling and apheresis operations, including leading the selection and implementation of a cell therapy orchestration platform. The focus in the short‑to‑mid‑term will be on risto‑cel, an ex‑vivo autologous hematopoietic stem cell‑based gene therapy for the treatment of severe sickle cell disease (SCD). Patient Operations will be critical for the provider and patient experience and as such, this role will be a crucial member of the cross‑functional team preparing for Beam’s potential first product commercialization. Additionally, this position will be a key strategic thought partner defining how to commercialise Beam’s next‑generation hematology programmes, which have the potential to address significantly more patients. The successful candidate will also help shape the strategy for commercial patient supply for our in‑vivo genetic medicines products.
