Job summary

UCHealth in Colorado is seeking a Vice President of Ambulatory Surgery Centers to provide strategic oversight for the ambulatory surgery center portfolio. Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for the ASC portfolio with clear goals, standards, and measurable results.
• Partner with site administrators to standardize leading practices and improve operational consistency.
• Inspire and develop leaders for clinical, operational, financial, and patient experience outcomes.
• Own full P&L accountability and budget development for allocated centers, plus cost control and performance improvement.
• Build and sustain relationships with physician partners, medical staff, governing bodies, hospital leaders, and joint venture partners.
• Serve as primary operational contact for joint venture ASC relationships and governance alignment.
• Develop and execute market and portfolio strategies to expand services and improve efficiency.
• Advance business development priorities including new ASC development, acquisitions, and due diligence.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state requirements and accreditation standards for ASC operations.

Reporting to the President of Diversified Services and metro Denver community hospitals, the Vice President of Ambulatory Surgery Center Operations provides strategic oversight for the ambulatory surgery center portfolio. This leader advances organizational goals, strengthens financial and operational performance, and ensures high-quality, patient-centered surgical services across a complex, multi-site environment. The Vice President oversees ASC operations, including financial management, workforce planning, inventory, facility maintenance, surgical services, provider relationships, patient experience, and business growth. Serving as a key liaison among governing bodies, medical staff, employees, hospital leaders, and joint venture partners, this role aligns stakeholders around clinical excellence, sustainable growth, and consistent service delivery. This position is an onsite role and does not offer hybrid or remote options.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for the ASC portfolio, translating organizational priorities into clear goals, standards, and measurable results.
• Partner with site administrators to standardize leading practices, strengthen patient care, and improve operational consistency across locations.
• Inspire, develop, and hold leaders accountable for clinical, operational, financial, and patient experience outcomes.
• Own operational performance and full profit-and-loss accountability for assigned surgery centers, including budget development, expense management, and performance improvement.
• Build and sustain trusted relationships with new and existing physician partners, medical staff, governing bodies, hospital leaders, and other key stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary operational contact for joint venture ASC relationships and support effective governance, communication, and alignment.
• Develop and execute market and portfolio strategies that expand services, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and generate measurable returns on investment.
• Advance business development priorities, including new ASC development, acquisitions, partnerships, and related due diligence activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state requirements, accreditation standards, organizational policies, and ASC operating requirements.
• Oversee workforce planning and recruitment in partnership with site leaders, fostering an engaged, accountable, and collaborative culture.
• Monitor performance indicators and regularly engage stakeholders to address risks, accelerate results, and support sustained growth.
• Perform additional responsibilities based on evolving operational and business needs.

The Successful Candidate Will Meet The Following Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience in ambulatory surgery center operations, including experience as an ASC administrator.
• Demonstrated success leading multiple healthcare locations with full profit-and-loss and workforce accountability.
• Experience developing and managing operating and capital budgets and using financial and operational data to improve performance.
• Working knowledge of laws, regulations, and accreditation standards affecting ASC operations, including CMS and applicable accrediting bodies such as The Joint Commission, AAAHC, or AAAASF.
• Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, and evolving environment.
• Experience supporting joint venture relationships, ASC development, acquisitions, or partnership due diligence.

Pay: $261,643 - $392,454. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
