The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational foundation dedicated to promoting the geospatial intelligence tradecraft and developing a stronger GEOINT Community with government, industry, academia, professional organizations, and individuals who develop and apply geospatial intelligence to address national security challenges. USGIF achieves its mission through various programs and events, building the community, advancing the tradecraft, and accelerating innovation.
Job Summary
The Vice President of Program Content and Communications plays a pivotal, high-visibility role as a member of the USGIF Executive Team, leading content development for all the Foundation’s events and programs, including the GEOINT Symposium, GEOInteration Tuesdays, Mission Focus, Spatial Edge, the GEOINT Gala, and other ad hoc programming. The VP oversees marketing and communications efforts to ensure consistent brand messaging across platforms.
Responsibilities
As a member of the USGIF Executive Leadership Team, you will provide strategic direction for the Foundation's events and activities, promote teamwork, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization. Your duties include developing and executing strategies for technology and program influences, serving as a spokesperson, engaging diverse audiences, planning and delivering programs, managing event logistics, developing key messages, evaluating program effectiveness, and overseeing staff and budget management.
Work Experience
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in or with the geospatial intelligence community, leading teams, and managing contractors or vendors. Familiarity with defense, intelligence, homeland security, and geospatial technologies is required. Experience with small business or nonprofit management is a plus.
Education and Skills
Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for degrees in Geospatial Sciences, Political Science, Marketing, or Communications. Advanced degrees are a plus. Must have excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, multitasking ability, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and be able to travel occasionally.
Working Conditions
Primarily remote work with attendance at meetings and events as needed, occasional travel, and physical ability to lift materials (~25 lbs). USGIF offers comprehensive benefits, including paid health care, 401(k) match, hybrid work, and bonuses. Application deadline: July 1.
