Position Summary
Seeking an experienced and transformational Vice President of Operations to lead manufacturing and operational activities.
The Vice President of Operations is responsible for operational excellence within a highly engineered aerospace manufacturing environment that designs and produces aircraft cargo-loading systems, electromechanical assemblies, aircraft interior hardware, structural components, power drive units, and mission-critical aerospace systems for commercial and defense customers worldwide.
This executive will play a critical role in scaling the organization for future growth, improving efficiency, advancing ERP maturity, strengthening cross-site integration, and supporting strategic aerospace and defense initiatives. The successful candidate must be equally comfortable leading on the factory floor, driving lean transformation, and partnering with senior leaders on long-range strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead manufacturing, production control, quality, facilities, MRO and sustainment, and continuous improvement functions across multiple sites.
- Establish a high-performance operating culture focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and execute operational strategies that support revenue growth and scalable production.
- Create alignment among Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Program Management, and Commercial functions.
Multi-Site Manufacturing Management
- Provide direct oversight of operations in our two California locations.
- Optimize production loading, labor utilization, machine capacity, and material flow across both facilities.
- Build a unified operating model that leverages each site’s strengths while maintaining common processes and performance standards.
- Develop succession plans and leadership capability across both organizations.
Manufacturing Excellence
- Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead value-stream optimization to improve throughput, productivity, inventory performance, and working capital.
- Establish operational KPI dashboards, management routines, and accountability systems.
- Reduce manufacturing lead times while improving delivery performance and product quality.
Aerospace Quality and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace quality and regulatory standards.
- Support FAA, EASA, AS9100, NADCAP, customer, and internal audits.
- Ensure appropriate controls are maintained for both new-production and Repair Station operations.
- Partner with Quality leadership to strengthen corrective action, preventive action, and root-cause systems.
- Maintain a culture of operational discipline, product safety, and regulatory excellence.
Supply Chain Collaboration and SIOP Leadership
- Lead the integrated Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process.
- Improve forecasting accuracy, inventory management, capacity planning, and material readiness.
- Partner with Supply Chain leadership on long-term sourcing strategies, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and supply-chain resiliency for critical aerospace components and materials.
Digital Transformation and Systems
- Lead operational adoption and optimization of ERP and advanced planning systems.
- Develop data-driven decision-making processes using timely and reliable operational performance metrics.
- Advance manufacturing-systems maturity, process standardization, and automation where appropriate.
Strategic Growth
- Support major aerospace programs requiring production scale-up and operational readiness.
- Develop operations strategies that support expansion into adjacent aerospace and defense markets.
- Participate in acquisition integration activities and operational due diligence as required.
- Contribute to strategic planning, capital investment planning, and long-range capacity development.
Leadership Expectations

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Program Management, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 15 years of progressive aerospace manufacturing leadership experience.
- At least 10 years of experience leading multiple manufacturing functions within a complex aerospace, defense, industrial equipment, or highly engineered products environment.
- Demonstrated responsibility for production operations exceeding $150 million in annual revenue.
- Experience managing multi-site manufacturing organizations.
- Proven success implementing lean manufacturing and operational transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of aerospace quality systems and regulatory requirements.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and productivity improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced technical degree.
- Experience with FAA Part 21, FAA Part 145, AS9100, NADCAP, military aerospace, or related regulated environments.
- Experience managing operations in both the United States and Mexico.
- Knowledge of electromechanical assemblies, aerospace structures, cargo systems, actuation systems, aircraft interiors, or mission systems.
- Experience leading ERP implementations and operational integration efforts.
- Experience supporting OEM, military, and aftermarket aerospace customers.
