Job summary

Jobot in Sonoma, CA seeks an experienced nonprofit leader to oversee fundraising, marketing, grants, and community engagement while guiding long-term growth and sustainability.

As a member of the executive leadership team, you will shape strategy, work with the CEO, board, donors, and partners, and drive revenue growth and external visibility. The VP will lead integrated strategies, set KPIs, and manage staff to advance program impact and community engagement.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, marketing, communications, grants, or community engagement.
• Demonstrated success leading fundraising and/or grant strategies with measurable results.
• Experience building relationships with donors, funders, community partners, and other external stakeholders.
• Experience working with diverse populations and community-based organizations preferred.
• Must pass required background screening, including CPR/First Aid certification; California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fundraising strategy, including grassroots fundraising, donor communications, and community-based giving.
• Lead the organization’s grant strategy, including prospecting, proposal development, compliance, reporting, and funder relationships.
• Develop and oversee marketing and communications strategy, brand positioning, digital presence, and organizational storytelling.
• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, funders, businesses, and other strategic partners.
• Oversee community programming, facility use, and other initiatives that expand engagement and support earned revenue.
• Partner closely with development leadership to align fundraising, donor engagement, communications, and revenue strategies.
• Establish departmental goals, budgets, KPIs, and performance measures.
• Lead, develop, and manage staff, consultants, and external partners.
• Serve as a senior representative of the organization within the community.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, marketing, communications, grants, or community engagement.
• Demonstrated success leading fundraising and/or grant strategies with measurable results.
• Experience building relationships with donors, funders, community partners, and other external stakeholders.
• Experience working with diverse populations and community‑based organizations preferred.

Must pass required background screening, including physical, TB test, and drug screening.

• Must be certified or able to become certified in CPR and First Aid.
• Valid California driver’s license required.
