Overview
The Vice President of Commercial and Operations Finance is a strategic business leader and partner responsible for managing all aspects of the Profit and Loss statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. This position manages a team of finance and accounting professionals to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of monthly and quarterly results in accordance with GAAP. This position partners closely with executive leadership to drive financial performance across many areas of the business, manages risk, and supports the company’s long-term strategic goals. The ideal candidate possesses the skills and expertise to effectively manage business performance, provide strategic partnership to deliver long range business objectives including the implementation of best-in-class processes, systems and analytics. The Vice President of Finance should possess strong written and verbal communication skills and a strong track record of success building high performing teams and developing talent.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of financial strategy aligned with the company’s goals.
- Partner with executive leadership to guide business strategy, growth initiatives, capital investments, risk management, efficiency and productivity.
- Identify key performance drivers and provide robust financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives.
- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Oversee the commercial and operations annual budgeting and long-term financial forecasting processes.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and business reporting packages that provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Operations Finance & Business Support
- Collaborate with the COO and operations leaders to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making.
- Drive cost optimization, resource allocation, and capital planning across departments.
- Partner with operations to analyze margin performance, inventory management, pricing strategy, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
- Team Leadership
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- An ability to identify talent, develop capabilities, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ability to lead and influence collaboratively across departments.
- Partner effectively with Operations, Commercial, HR, Marketing, R&D and IT to drive alignment between financial strategy and business goals.
- Experience leading teams through transformation, such as ERP implementations, process automation, or integration after M&A activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to clearly present financial insights and influence senior leaders and board-level stakeholders.
- Skilled at setting clear goals, managing team performance, and establishing metrics that align with corporate goals and objectives.
- Committed to fostering a collaborative, ethical, and results-oriented finance culture that supports both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably in a VP or senior director role.
- Proven track record of strategic financial leadership and business acumen.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to influence across functions and manage multiple priorities.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including experience reporting to boards and investors.
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains & Business Central).

- Prior exposure to M&A and integrations
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, performance-driven culture with a focus on measurable results.
