Job summary

Signify Technology is seeking a Vice President of Cloud Engineering to lead our Florida-based cloud platform with hybrid or onsite options and remote consideration nationwide for the right leader. This executive role reports to the CTO/CIO and carries authority over architecture decisions, cloud spend, and the engineers who run the platform.

You will own the cloud strategy, multi-year roadmap, and drive migration and modernization efforts while partnering with security and vendors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software or infrastructure engineering.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams at manager/director level.
• Hands-on with at least one major cloud platform, and fluency across more than one.
• Owned a large-scale cloud migration or modernization program end to end.
• Strong background in Kubernetes, containerization, and infrastructure as code.
• Owned cloud budget with track record of cost optimization.
• Strong CI/CD, observability, and site reliability practices.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $215,000 to $280,000 base plus performance bonus (DOE)

Role Location: Florida (Hybrid or Onsite) preferred. Remote considered nationally for the right leader.

The company: Signify Technology is retained on a confidential search for a Vice President of Cloud Engineering. Our client is a growing technology organization whose cloud estate has scaled faster than the leadership around it, and they are hiring an executive to own the platform, the spend, and the engineers who run it. This is a hands-off-keyboard but deeply technical leadership seat, reporting into the CTO or CIO, with real authority over architecture decisions and cloud investment. Role And Responsibilities

• Own the cloud engineering strategy and multi-year roadmap across the organization's cloud platforms.
• Lead and grow a multi-team cloud, platform, and DevOps organization, including hiring, mentoring, and development of engineering managers.
• Set the architectural direction for cloud infrastructure, containerization, and platform services.
• Own cloud financial management and FinOps, including forecasting, unit economics, and cost optimization.
• Drive the platform engineering function so product teams ship faster with less friction.
• Own reliability, scalability, and performance targets, including SLOs, on-call, and incident management.
• Lead migration and modernization programs, including data center exit, re-platforming, and re-architecture.
• Partner with Security to embed cloud security and compliance into the platform rather than bolting it on.
• Own vendor and hyperscaler relationships, including contract and committed-spend negotiation.
• Set engineering standards for infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and automation.

Job Requirements

• 10 or more years in software or infrastructure engineering, with 5 or more years leading engineering teams at manager, director, or above.
• Experience leading managers, not only individual contributors.
• Deep, hands-on expertise with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and working fluency across more than one.
• Proven ownership of a large-scale cloud migration or modernization program end to end.
• Strong background in Kubernetes, containerization, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated ownership of a cloud budget, with a track record of measurable cost optimization.
• Strong grounding in CI/CD, observability, and site reliability practices.
• Track record of building, leading, and retaining an engineering organization.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
