Job description

Mantell Associates is currently partnered with a Multi-Omics Services Organization based in the US who are searching for a VP of Business Development to join their fast-growing commercial team.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong network within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and emerging biopharma sectors, and will play a pivotal role in expanding their presence and engagement across these key markets.

You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales and territory plans, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, and building strong, lasting client relationships. A deep understanding of the omics landscape and a strategic, proactive mindset are essential for driving sustainable growth and broadening market reach.

VP of Business Development - Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to meet sales targets and grow the customer base within key accounts and target regions
  • Cultivate and sustain long-term client relationships by understanding their needs and delivering customized solutions
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, investment opportunities, and potential partnerships for business growth
  • Create and present compelling proposals and presentations that clearly articulate the value of our products and services to prospective clients
  • Lead contract negotiations and close deals that optimize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and product development teams to align strategies and enhance our offerings
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build brand awareness and network with potential clients
  • Provide actionable market insights and feedback to senior leadership on customer challenges, emerging trends, and competitive movements
  • Support sales initiatives by contributing to process improvements, mentoring team members, and enhancing overall sales effectiveness
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all sales activities, client interactions, and relevant data within the CRM system

VP of Business Development - Requirements:

  • Deep customer relationships within Pharma, Biotech and emerging Biopharma markets
  • Strong familiarity with Multi-Omics & Proteomics services rather than equipment
  • 12+ years of Sales & Business Development experience in Molecular Diagnostics & Genomics arena
  • Results-driven approach and proven track record of outperformance in executive-level business development positions
  • Possess a strategic mindset with the ability to break down goals and objectives to achieve results
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
