Vice President of Ambulatory Operations, Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center

Job Overview:

The Vice President of Ambulatory Operations for the Cancer Center manages outpatient clinical operations, including adult and pediatric outpatient clinics and the infusion center. This role involves working closely with senior leaders to ensure operational effectiveness and oversight of the cancer center's functionality, delivering patient-centered care with high safety, quality, access, and outcomes.

Key Collaborators: Vice Presidents of Radiation Oncology, Oncology Nursing, Central Cancer Service Line, Perioperative Services, RWJUH New Brunswick, Hospital Operations, and Support Services.

Reports To: Chief Administrative Officer of the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive healthcare/facility management experience, preferably in Oncology.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Proven success in delivering excellent service and operational outcomes in an academic medical center.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare funding, information systems, and business acumen.

Essential Functions:

  • Achieve high performance in ambulatory services, ensuring productivity, financial, and patient care goals.
  • Serve as a liaison across departments to enhance collaboration and patient experience.
  • Analyze reports, improve departmental operations, and leverage technology for performance measurement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and oversee operational efficiency.
  • Develop strategic plans, manage budgets, and lead staff to foster a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders to implement evidence-based practices and innovate care delivery.
  • Drive performance improvements, quality metrics, employee engagement, and service line growth.
  • Support RWJUH Oncology Services to be among the top cancer programs nationally.
