NorthRidge Community Credit Union is seeking a Vice President of Accounting to lead all accounting operations from the Virginia, MN location. This on‑site role reports to the CEO, supports strategic planning, and drives accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Credit union or financial institution experience preferred.
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls.

• Lead and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, fixed assets, investments, accounts payable, and month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Develop, maintain, and strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures.
• Oversee preparation and submission of regulatory reports, including NCUA Call Reports and other required filings.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting activities.
• Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to support strategic planning, organizational growth, and decision‑making.
• Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and financial results.
• Support Asset Liability Management (ALM) reporting, liquidity analysis, and risk management activities.
• Serve as the primary contact for auditors, examiners, and regulatory agencies.
• Develop, coach, and support accounting team members.

What You Will Do

What Success Looks Like

• Accurate, timely, and NCUA‑compliant financial reporting, including monthly and quarterly financial statements and Call Reports (NCUA 5300).
• Strong internal controls and compliance with regulatory, audit, and accounting standards.
• A smooth, well‑managed month‑end and year‑end close process with minimal audit or examiner findings.
• Effective oversight of accounting operations that ensures adherence to GAAP and credit union‑specific accounting guidance.
• Effective leadership and development of the accounting team.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent progressive experience may be considered.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Credit union or financial institution experience preferred.
• 5‑10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• High attention to detail combined with sound judgment and a strong ethical foundation.

What You Need

• A strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to credit unions or financial institutions.
• The ability to analyze financial data and clearly communicate results to non‑financial stakeholders.
• Experience working with auditors, examiners, and third‑party partners.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and financial software.
• A continuous‑improvement mindset and comfort leading process enhancements.
