Overview

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role manages the staff responsible for the accounting activities related to the preparation, maintenance and review of financial records, accounts and reports; the budgeting and forecasting function; and the cash management and overall financing of the company.

Participates as a member of the Leadership Team, by providing accurate and timely reporting and production of financial data, enabling the business to make sound business decisions, maintaining the organization’s “good citizenship” in the global business community and promoting good morale and knowledge within the financial unit.

Duties include

• Provides overall direction for the Accounting Department, working with the Corporate Accounting Manager.
• Leads financial and operational technology integrations.
• Directs, coordinates and evaluates job assignments, schedule planning, to meet reporting deadlines.
• Reviews and oversees G/L accounting close, accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, cash receipts, collections, fixed assets, payroll, sales commissions, royalty reporting and annual audits and tax reporting functions.
• Manages the monthly, quarterly and year-end closes and account reconciliation process as per the closing schedules and timelines.
• Manages the forecasting and budgeting process of the company.
• Performs professional accounting work in accordance with a prescribed accounting system and generally accepted principles of accounting.
• Prepares a variety of comprehensive financial statements and reports for management.
• Manage the company’s annual financial and 401(k) audits.
• Works with cross-functional teams to implement an e-commerce system for the company.
• Prioritizes and assists staff with problem solving.
• Hires, trains, promotes, terminates staff and temporary staff personnel as needed within company guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Conducts yearly performance reviews and one-on-one counseling sessions with department personnel as needed.
