We're partnering with a leading global alternative investment management firm on a VP of Accounting & Finance opportunity within its U.S. Corporate Finance organization. Reporting directly to the U.S. Controller, this executive will play a key leadership role across management company accounting, financial reporting, finance operations, and transformation, with significant exposure to the Deputy CFO and senior finance leadership across the firm's global investment businesses.

This is a broad leadership opportunity that goes well beyond traditional accounting oversight. The incoming leader will work with an established team of Directors and Managers, help guide the day-to-day Corporate Finance organization, and play an important role in shaping how the function evolves. A major focus will be developing people, strengthening processes and controls, and driving improvements through technology, automation, and AI.

Responsibilities:

• Partner directly with the U.S. Controller to lead Corporate Finance operations, establish priorities, and drive execution across the organization
• Lead and develop experienced accounting and finance teams, including Directors, Managers, and onshore/offshore resources
• Oversee corporate accounting and financial reporting across the management company, affiliated entities, balance sheet investments, and regulated broker-dealer operations
• Oversee consolidated and standalone financial statements, external audits, regulatory and covenant reporting, and related accounting responsibilities
• Provide leadership across finance operations, including AP, AR, expense allocations, revenue recognition, invoicing, treasury, and cash management
• Work closely with senior finance leadership, FP&A, Tax, Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, and international finance teams
• Lead finance transformation initiatives involving process improvement, internal controls, systems enhancements, automation, and AI
• Help establish scalable processes, develop future leaders, and strengthen the overall finance organization as the firm continues to grow

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required
• 13+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including substantial leadership and people management responsibilities
• Background in corporate accounting, controllership, or management company finance within asset management, private equity, financial services, or another complex multinational organization
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidated financial reporting, tax-basis accounting, and multi-entity accounting structures
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred, particularly Big 4 or other large accounting firms
• Experience leading multilayered teams, including Managers, Directors, and outsourced or offshore resources
• Demonstrated success implementing process improvements, strengthening internal controls, and driving finance systems or operational transformation
• Broker-dealer accounting or regulatory reporting experience is a plus
