A Brief Overview

The Vice President of Mid-Revenue Cycle is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for the health system's mid-revenue cycle operations across the enterprise. This role involves overseeing strategic planning, leadership, and operations support for Health Information Management, Hospital and Professional Coding Services, Charge Capture procedures, Revenue Integrity, and Clinical Documentation Integrity. It ensures the accurate and optimal capture of revenue, diagnosis, procedures, and quality information across all clinical encounters, aligning with compliance and regulations. The role also focuses on identifying opportunities to improve documentation accuracy and prevent issues that could cause revenue delays, leakage, or compliance risks.

The Vice President collaborates with various departments and leadership to establish policies, organize workflows, motivate personnel, and engage with all levels of the organization and affiliates to drive key outcomes for the mid-revenue cycle.

What you will do
  • Develop and execute a vision and strategy for mid-revenue cycle operations aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage performance and measure progress regularly to ensure results are achieved.
  • Implement policies, workflows, and processes to optimize revenue capture and clinical documentation, acting as a liaison with finance and clinical leadership.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to promote accurate documentation for patient care, financial performance, and quality reporting.
  • Develop a multidisciplinary clinical documentation integrity program, analyze outcomes, and communicate best practices.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, coordinate activities, and resolve issues related to revenue integrity and continuous improvement.
  • Establish organizational policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and safeguard assets.
  • Lead or facilitate task forces and committees for program planning and implementation.
  • Define metrics and performance goals for revenue capture, coding, and documentation integrity.
  • Work with revenue cycle leadership to achieve strategic goals and design relevant reports.
  • Meet regularly with finance and administration leaders to optimize revenue management.
  • Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure synchronization of activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws regarding revenue and reimbursement.
  • Oversee communication with technology vendors and system enhancements.
  • Evaluate vendor contracts and performance.
  • Prepare leadership to recognize and mitigate risks associated with organizational changes.
Education Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
Experience Qualifications
  • Fifteen (15) years in healthcare revenue cycle management.
  • Ten (10) years in middle/upper management leadership roles.
  • Recent EPIC system experience, including billing and clinical documentation functionalities.
  • Five (5) years in coding/nomenclature.

Compensation

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $115.64 - $153.23 per hour. Final salary depends on experience, education, and other factors. The pay scale is not a promise of a specific wage.
