Job description

Vice President, Medical Director, VML LLC, Kansas City, MO. Lead multiple scientific teams, ensuring their daily activities uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity while aligning with brand strategic goals. Oversee the accuracy and strategic relevance of scientific content, including translating complex science into educational materials. Write, edit, and review scientific materials. Demonstrate a knowledge of the therapeutic market and share timely information about changes in the market. Manage client relationships. Provide strategic recommendations while participating in the development of innovative, science-based programs. Handle client interactions and provide scientific insights into market strategies. Coordinate with external resources to enhance the quality of scientific deliverables. Mentor junior team members. Manage internal and external relationships to foster client satisfaction.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Doctorate degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Neuroscience, Biomedical Science, or a related field, and a minimum of six (6) years of related work experience in medical communications.

Must have a minimum of six (6) years’ experience with/in:

  • Working within agency and supporting work in the fields of immunology, neurology, infectious disease, or respiratory medicine;
  • Applying high degree of scientific knowledge to work on multiple accounts;
  • Liaising with multiple departments to fulfill client requirements; and
  • Utilizing Microsoft suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Pubmed to review and edit scientific medical writing.

Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience with/in:

  • Project management in medical field, including managing deadlines and developing timelines;
  • Supervising team of scientific services and freelance support professionals; and
  • Identifying and developing business growth opportunities.

20% of domestic and international travel required.

100% Telecommuting permitted.
