Vice President of Marketing

Location Boston, MA - Hybrid (Mon-Wed in office, Thu-Fri remote) Reports To CEO Type Full-Time

About Us

We're a fast-growing data technology and Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) company building information products for businesses and consumers. Our reports and data solutions are compiled from government, public, commercial, and private sources across automotive, real estate and property, courthouse and legal data, public records, cybersecurity, and business intelligence. Most of our products are subscription-based, and expanding our B2B and DaaS offerings is our top growth priority.

The Role

You'll own marketing performance across our full portfolio of brands, reporting directly to the CEO. You'll lead three in-house Marketing Managers (each responsible for specific brands), an offshore Social Media Manager, and an offshore SEO and content writing team, and you'll run the team's daily stand-up.

This is a hands-on role. You'll set strategy and manage people, and you'll also build campaigns, dig through funnels, review landing pages, and pull the numbers yourself. Because our brands serve very different markets, you'll need to run several different playbooks at once rather than applying one across the portfolio. Priorities shift as new data and opportunities emerge, so you'll need to hold multiple brands, launches, and tests in your head without losing the thread.

What You'll Own

Paid acquisition. Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads are the core of our acquisition engine. You'll personally build and launch campaigns when we're testing a new product, market, keyword category, or offer - keyword and competitor research, ad copy, landing page strategy, conversion tracking, bid and budget optimization, and CAC/ROAS analysis. Paid social across Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Reddit sits here too, alongside organic social strategy with our Social Media Manager.

B2B go-to-market. We've grown primarily in B2C and are now pushing hard into B2B and DaaS. You'll build the positioning, demand generation, lead generation, sales funnels, content, LinkedIn marketing, and email outreach that make that work.

Retention and subscription growth. Acquiring a customer is only the first half. You'll work with Marketing Managers, Product, UX/UI, and Analytics on trial-to-paid conversion, churn, cancellation behavior, retention by acquisition channel, LTV, cohort performance, and upsell - then translate what you find into changes to onboarding, pricing, offers, lifecycle marketing, and the product itself.

Conversion and UX. Landing pages, registration and checkout flows, onboarding, product dashboards, report presentation, subscription management, cancellation flows, and mobile experience. The question we care about isn't only how much traffic you can send - it's what happens after the customer arrives.

Email and lifecycle marketing. We do very little of it today despite sizable customer and prospect databases. You'll build this from the ground up: onboarding, nurture, trial conversion, retention, churn prevention, win-back, cross-sell between brands, and B2B lead nurturing.

New product launches. We test new products and concepts regularly. You'll own market and competitor research, positioning, segmentation, pricing and offer development, go-to-market, the first campaign builds, and the read on whether to scale.

Analytics. You'll be in the numbers daily - revenue, spend, profitability, CAC, ROAS, trial and paid conversion rates, churn, LTV, funnel performance, and results by channel and by brand. Our internal dashboards make this data readily available, and we expect it to drive decisions rather than intuition.

Requirements

These are all necessary to succeed in the role -

  • Marketing leadership experience as a VP, Head of Marketing, or Director of Marketing in a growth-focused role
  • Direct people management - you've built, coached, and held a marketing team accountable
  • Hands-on Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads experience - you can build and launch campaigns yourself rather than briefing an agency
  • Strong B2B marketing experience , including demand generation and lead generation
  • Experience with subscription, SaaS, DaaS, or other recurring-revenue businesses, with real command of CAC, LTV, churn, and cohort analysis
  • Paid social buying across Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Reddit, plus an understanding of how paid and organic work together
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI and conversion-rate optimization
  • Email and lifecycle marketing experience, including automated programs
  • Strong knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Experience launching and scaling new products
  • Ability to operate across multiple brands and industries simultaneously
  • Practical use of modern AI and marketing technology tools in research, creative, analytics, and execution
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred: MBA; FullStory or a similar behavioral/product analytics platform; a track record of taking a product from a primarily B2C environment into a B2B market.

Demonstrated hands-on ability and a track record of measurable results matter more to us than academic credentials.

Why Join Us

An established portfolio of brands, significant existing customer acquisition volume, extensive marketing and customer data, and a short path from idea to live test. You'll influence product strategy, customer experience, retention, and B2B expansion - not just advertising - working directly with the CEO.
