Vice President of Land (Acquisitions & Development)

We are partnering with a growing real estate/construction company to identify a Vice President of Land to lead acquisitions and development across multiple markets. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving land strategy, managing a large team, and ensuring a strong pipeline of finished lots to support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all land acquisition and development activities across assigned markets
• Source, underwrite, and secure land deals aligned with strategic growth targets
• Oversee due diligence, entitlements, and development execution from initial pursuit through lot delivery
• Manage and develop a team of land, development, and project management professionals
• Partner with executive leadership on market expansion strategy and capital allocation
• Build and maintain relationships with landowners, brokers, municipalities, and consultants
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and regulatory landscape

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in land acquisition and/or development within homebuilding or residential real estate
• Proven track record of sourcing and closing land deals and delivering developed lots
• Experience leading teams across multiple markets or regions
• Strong financial acumen, including underwriting, pro formas, and deal structuring
• Deep understanding of entitlements, zoning, and development processes
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills
