Job description

Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D) is seeking a Vice President for our industry group public K-12, to lead the growth and expansion of our K-12 practice across Texas.

Texas- Based | Remote | Statewide Travel Required

Named the #17 fastest-growing AEC firm in the U.S. and Canada by Zweig Group's Hot Firm Awards.

B&D is entering an exciting period of growth, creating new opportunities for entrepreneurial leaders to shape industries, expand markets, and drive meaningful impact. We are investing in the future of our K-12 practice and looking for a recognized leader who can help us strengthen our presence, deepen client relationships, and grow our team across the state. This role combines business development, client leadership, thought leadership, and project delivery oversight to build and grow B&D's Public K-12 presence throughout Texas.

At B&D we lead the planning, development, and management of the places that shape and strengthen communities, where people live, learn, work, and play. B&D partners with educational institutions, municipalities, and organizations to shape and deliver complex real estate and capital projects, providing strategic insight and end-to-end advisory services across the full project lifecycle.

B&D recently joined forces with Project Management Advisors, bringing together two nationally recognized leaders in program management and real estate advisory services. Together, the combined firm offers expanded capabilities across industries and throughout the full project lifecycle, from early-stage strategy and planning through execution and beyond.

As Industry Group Vice President, Public K-12, you will serve as B&D's senior market leader for Texas. This is a highly visible leadership role focused on growing our K-12 practice through a combination of business development, market leadership, client engagement, thought leadership, and project delivery oversight. You will work closely with national industry leaders, regional leadership, and project teams to identify opportunities, expand client relationships, develop talent, and strengthen B&D's reputation as a trusted advisor to school districts and educational leaders throughout Texas

This role requires candidates to reside in Texas. While the position is remote-based, regular travel throughout the state is expected. Candidates located near major metropolitan areas are preferred.

How You'll Contribute
  • Lead the strategic growth of B&D's Public K-12 practice across Texas.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with school district leaders, including superintendents, CFOs, facilities leaders, and board members.
  • Develop and execute market growth strategies that increase B&D's visibility, influence, and market share throughout the state.
  • Identify emerging trends, funding opportunities, enrollment shifts, capital planning needs, and other factors influencing Texas K-12 facilities and infrastructure decisions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to current and prospective clients on facility planning, capital programs, development strategy, and implementation.
  • Lead business development activities, including client engagement, opportunity identification, pursuit strategy, conference participation, presentations, and industry involvement.
  • Partner with regional leadership to develop winning approaches for pursuits, including staffing plans, project strategy, scope development, and client engagement efforts.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful delivery, strong client experiences, and long-term client retention.
  • Support thought leadership initiatives through speaking engagements, publications, conference participation, and industry association involvement.
  • Work closely with leadership to identify hiring, resource, and capability-building opportunities that strengthen B&D's K-12 presence in Texas.
  • Mentor and develop staff while helping build the next generation of K-12 leaders across the firm.
  • Contribute to firmwide strategic initiatives and cross-regional collaboration efforts.
How You'll Lead
  • Lead through influence, collaboration, and relationship-building across a matrixed organization.
  • Balance business development, client leadership, and project execution responsibilities.
  • Foster strong partnerships between regional, practice, and industry leaders.
  • Drive the development of B&D's Public K-12 practice across Texas through client relationships, market engagement, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Inspire teams through mentorship, professional development, and a commitment to excellence.
  • Drive accountability while maintaining a collaborative and entrepreneurial leadership style.
What We're Looking For
