Our Investment Accounting Group

This group provides accounting and regulatory data services to insurance clients, including reconciliation, asset tracking, accounting, and regulatory schedules.

The Role

Handle all aspects of Derivative accounting and reporting, support the monthly close, lead initiatives, and improve processes and controls. There are opportunities for professional growth within the group and across BlackRock, expanding your expertise in product types, accounting complexities, and technical skills.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop knowledge of BlackRock's capabilities, products, and services for insurance companies.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and accounting standards (IFRS, US Statutory, US GAAP) and communicate implications to ensure compliance.
  • Support business growth, onboarding of new clients, and client retention within the insurance sector.
  • Represent accounting in cross-functional projects to achieve business and client goals.
  • Improve investment reporting processes to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and adapt to business changes.
  • Collaborate with vendors to prioritize and complete development projects.
  • Provide expert support in client interactions regarding accounting matters.
  • Conduct training sessions for the Investment Accounting Team.
  • Review quarterly regulatory reconciliations and follow up on issues.
  • Assist with audits, review results, and recommend control improvements.
Experience Required
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in investments/markets, with knowledge of Derivative products and investment accounting.
  • Understanding of insurance company regulations and accounting standards.
  • Focus on operational improvement and control enhancement.
  • Knowledge of Derivative financial reporting and disclosures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

For Wilmington, DE, the salary range is USD $117,500 - $173,500. Benefits include bonuses, healthcare, retirement, and leave benefits.
