Job description

An established, employee-owned organization is seeking an experienced Vice President of Human Resources to join its executive leadership team and build the people, leadership, and organizational infrastructure needed to support its next phase of growth. This is not a traditional compliance-focused HR role. The company already has a capable HR team handling day-to-day HR operations. Instead, this executive will focus on developing leaders, strengthening culture, building scalable people systems, and partnering directly with the CEO and executive team to prepare the organization for continued expansion. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact while positioning yourself for future advancement into a Chief People Officer role.

About the Role

As a key member of the executive team, you will:

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement leadership development programs for frontline supervisors, managers, and emerging leaders.
  • Build succession planning and high-potential development programs across the organization.
  • Create scalable talent acquisition, workforce planning, and onboarding strategies.
  • Develop career paths, job architecture, compensation frameworks, and performance management systems.
  • Lead organizational design initiatives that support continued growth.
  • Champion employee engagement, retention, and a high-performance culture.
  • Select and implement HR technology that supports a growing workforce.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership to align people strategy with business objectives.
  • Lead and develop an established HR team while evaluating organizational capabilities and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Progressive Human Resources leadership experience in a field-based, operational environment.
  • Proven success building leadership development, talent management, or organizational development programs from the ground up.
  • Experience partnering directly with executive leadership on business strategy.
  • Demonstrated success developing managers, improving employee engagement, and building succession plans.
  • Experience leading HR teams and implementing scalable people systems.
  • Comfortable working closely with frontline employees and operational leaders.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership while building credibility throughout the organization.

Required Skills

Strategic HR leader who enjoys building organizations—not simply maintaining existing programs.
