BrainWorks in Minneapolis is seeking a Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead the enterprise-wide finance function, shaping strategy, planning, and performance management across the company.

Reporting to the CFO with dotted-line relationships to business-unit presidents, this role consolidates budgeting and forecasting into a single enterprise capability, standardizing processes and embedding predictive insight to drive margin expansion and capital efficiency.

Job description

This is a newly created, enterprise-wide leadership role and one of the most consequential finance appointments the company will make in its new ownership chapter. The Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis serves as the enterprise leader for financial strategy, planning, and performance management across the company, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, with dotted-line relationships to and close collaboration with the Presidents of the business units. The existing FP&A teams report to this position.

The mandate is to build a modern, data-driven finance function. This leader will consolidate what has historically been segment-level planning into a single enterprise capability, standardizing processes, elevating analytical horsepower, and embedding predictive and prescriptive insight into how the business makes decisions, all in service of profitable growth, margin expansion, and capital efficiency.

The scope reaches well beyond budgeting and forecasting. This is a role for a finance leader who thinks like an operator: identifying and quantifying opportunities to expand margin, optimize pricing, improve customer and product profitability, and sharpen the economics of growth, then leading the initiatives that convert those opportunities into realized results through effective partnership with business leaders.
