A highly regarded and growing investment firm is seeking a VP of Finance to join its leadership team. The firm invests across venture capital and private equity-style strategies and is looking for a finance leader who can help scale its financial infrastructure, reporting, and operations.
This is a broad, high-impact role for someone who enjoys operating in a lean, entrepreneurial environment. The VP of Finance will work closely with senior leadership and have meaningful exposure to the firm’s investment, operations, and strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the firm’s financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management processes
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation and review of financial statements and management reporting
- Partner with external fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers
- Oversee fund-level and management company accounting, including capital activity, expense allocations, management fees, and carried interest calculations
- Support fundraising and investor reporting, including responding to investor, auditor, and diligence requests
- Strengthen financial controls, policies, processes, and systems as the firm continues to grow
- Provide leadership with financial analysis, scenario planning, and insights to support strategic decision-making
- Manage and develop finance and accounting team members, while remaining willing to be hands-on when needed
- Serve as a key partner to investment professionals, investor relations, legal, and operations teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership experience within private equity, venture capital, asset management, fund administration, or a similar investment environment
- Strong understanding of fund accounting, partnership accounting, financial reporting, and investment management operations
- Experience managing external fund administrators, auditors, tax providers, and other third-party partners
- Strong technical accounting and financial analysis skills
- Proven ability to build scalable processes in a growing, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior executives and investment professionals
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day execution
