Job summary

CarterPierce, INC. is seeking a hands-on VP of Finance in Phoenix/Scottsdale to rebuild the finance and accounting function, own the close, and drive scalable reporting for rapid growth.

The role requires 5–8+ years in finance leadership, strong manufacturing/cost accounting, and experience with omnichannel platforms. Opportunity to grow toward CFO as the company scales.

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of progressive finance/accounting leadership experience.
  • Strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience.
  • Consumer retail / CPG experience.
  • Experience in omnichannel environments (Amazon, Shopify, etc.).
  • Experience with EDI systems; SPS experience preferred.
  • Experience with ERP implementations, transitions, or major system rebuilds.
  • Ability to partner with operations and supply chain teams.
  • Hands-on, high-accountability leadership style.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and rebuild the finance and accounting function.
  • Own month-end close, financial reporting, and accuracy.
  • Improve and automate AP/AR, reconciliations, inventory, allocations, labor, and overhead processes.
  • Establish disciplined cost accounting within manufacturing.
  • Lead ERP transition from Sage 100 to Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Ensure accurate financial data across omnichannel platforms (Shopify, Amazon, EDI).
  • Partner with operations on costing, inventory, production analytics, profitability.
  • Manage and develop a small finance/accounting team.
  • Collaborate with external consultants during transformation.
  • Build scalable financial systems, processes, and reporting.
  • Serve as a strategic finance partner to the executive team.

Job description

CarterPierce is partnering with a growth-stage consumer products manufacturer entering an exciting period of rapid expansion. The VP of Finance will lead and rebuild the finance and accounting function, improve reporting and processes, and establish the systems and controls necessary to support significant growth. This is a builder role for a hands‑on finance leader who enjoys creating structure in a fast‑moving environment and has the opportunity to grow into a broader CFO‑level position as the Company scales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and rebuild the finance and accounting function
  • Own month‑end close, financial reporting, and accounting accuracy
  • Improve and automate AP, AR, reconciliations, inventory, allocations, labor, and overhead processes
  • Establish disciplined cost accounting within a manufacturing environment
  • Lead an ERP transition from Sage 100 to Microsoft Dynamics
  • Ensure accurate financial data across high‑volume omnichannel platforms, including Shopify, Amazon, and EDI systems
  • Partner closely with operations on costing, inventory, production analytics, and profitability
  • Manage and develop a small finance/accounting team
  • Partner with external financial consultants during the initial transformation
  • Build scalable financial systems, processes, and reporting to support rapid revenue growth
  • Serve as a strategic finance partner to the executive team
What We're Looking For
Must Have:
  • 5–8+ years of progressive finance/accounting leadership experience
  • Strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience
  • Consumer retail / CPG experience
  • Proven experience in omnichannel consumer environments, including high-volume transactions across channels such as Amazon, Shopify, and/or other major retail platforms
  • Experience working with EDI systems; SPS experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with ERP implementations, transitions, or major system/process rebuilds
  • Strong operational orientation with the ability to work closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams
  • Hands‑on, high-accountability leadership style
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with limited oversight
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in Phoenix / Scottsdale, AZ
Preferred:
  • CPA
  • Experience scaling a business from approximately $25M to $100M+ in revenue
  • Startup or high‑growth company experience
  • Demonstrated ability to grow into a broader CFO role
