Description du poste

Position Overview:

We are seeking a VP, Finance & FP&A to build and lead the company’s financial planning, reporting and analytical infrastructure. This individual will serve as a key finance partner to the CEO, management team, Board and private equity sponsor and will have broad exposure across the organization. This is intended to be substantially broader than a traditional FP&A role. The VP will own the company’s budgeting, forecasting, financial and KPI reporting, cash flow planning, Board and lender reporting, and financial analysis, while partnering closely with the accounting function to improve the monthly close and overall quality of financial information. The role is designed for an individual capable of growing into a broader finance leadership position, with the potential to progress to CFO based on performance and the continued development of the finance and accounting organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the annual operating plan, budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Develop and maintain integrated financial models, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts.
  • Lead monthly budget-to-actual and forecast variance analysis.
  • Develop forward-looking analyses around revenue, gross margin, labor, customer profitability, overhead and EBITDA.
  • Build scenario analyses to support operating and strategic decisions.
  • Establish and track 13-week cash flow forecast and longer-term liquidity planning process.
Management & KPI Reporting
  • Own the monthly management reporting package and financial review process.
  • Develop and maintain KPI dashboards covering financial and operational performance.
  • Partner with operating leadership to establish appropriate KPIs, targets and accountability.
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities and translate financial results into actionable recommendations.
  • Continuously improve the quality, timeliness and usability of our client's financial information.
  • Partner closely with the Controller/accounting team to improve the monthly close process and reporting accuracy.
  • Help establish a consistent monthly close calendar, account mapping and management reporting structure.
  • Develop processes to improve visibility into working capital, particularly accounts receivable, accrued revenue, payroll and other significant balance-sheet accounts.
  • Support development of appropriate internal controls, policies and financial processes.
  • Assist with implementation and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Over time, develop the capabilities necessary to oversee the broader finance and accounting organization.
  • Lead preparation of monthly operating reviews and quarterly Board materials.
  • Serve as a primary finance interface with the private equity sponsor.
  • Prepare lender reporting, compliance certificates and covenant calculations.
  • Monitor leverage, liquidity and covenant compliance.
  • Support Board and investor analyses and ad hoc information requests.
  • Present financial performance, forecasts and key business drivers to senior stakeholders.
Strategic Finance & Business Partnership
  • Serve as a strategic financial partner to the CEO and operating leadership.
  • Evaluate major operating initiatives, customer opportunities, investments and organizational decisions.
  • Develop customer, contract and service level profitability analyses.
  • Support pricing decisions and contract economics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve margins, cash conversion and overall financial performance.
  • Help management translate the strategic plan into measurable financial and operating objectives.
M&A and Corporate Development
  • Support evaluation of potential acquisitions, including financial modeling and diligence.
  • Assist with transaction execution as appropriate.
  • Develop financial integration plans for acquired businesses.
  • Establish processes for tracking acquisition performance and synergies against the original investment case.
  • Support broader strategic planning and eventual exit-readiness initiatives.
Leadership & Organization Development
  • Help build the finance organization as the company grows.
  • Develop and mentor members of the finance and accounting teams.
  • Establish clear ownership, processes and accountability across finance.
  • Work closely with management and the sponsor to determine the appropriate long-term finance organization.
  • Demonstrate the ability to ultimately assume broader responsibility for the finance function.
Candidate Profile

Our ideal candidate should have approximately 8 to12+ years of progressive finance experience, with meaningful responsibility across FP&A, reporting and strategic finance.

Strong candidates would ideally have experience in a private equity-backed, lower-middle-market company, particularly within healthcare services, outsourced services, facilities services or another labor-intensive/multi-site business. The individual should have:

  • Significant FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and financial modeling experience.
  • Very strong understanding of the three financial statements and working-capital mechanics.
  • Strong experience developing management reporting packages and KPI dashboards.
  • Strong experience presenting financial information to senior management and preferably a Board or private equity sponsor.
  • Strong accounting fluency to work effectively with and ultimately oversee a Controller/accounting organization.
  • Outstanding Excel and financial modeling capabilities, with experience implementing or improving ERP/reporting systems viewed favorably.
  • Experience with debt reporting, covenant compliance and lender relationships preferred.
  • M&A diligence and integration experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate in a relatively lean environment and move between detailed financial work and higher-level strategic analysis.
