Job summary

BrainWorks in Marietta, GA is seeking a hands-on VP of Finance & Accounting to own the corporate finance function and partner with the President. The role requires leading a multisite finance team, guiding financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, controls, and tax coordination.

You will build long-range financial models, dashboards, and cost discipline programs, while mentoring the team and collaborating with operations to improve profitability and liquidity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive finance leadership in multisite environments.
• Proven ability to partner with operational leaders to improve profitability and cash flow.
• Experience with monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit support, tax coordination, internal controls.

The company is a commercial services company that has grown through a mix of organic and M&A. They are established, at scale, and seeking a VP Finance & Accounting to own the corporate finance function and report to the President.

This role is based in Marietta, GA and is fulltime on site.

• $200 million across 3 lines of business.
• Support team in place (Controller, Director FP&A)

Seeking an operational finance professional that can lead a team, mentor, and work as a strategic partner operationally throughout the organization.

Someone that has operated in a multisite environment is needed for this role.

• Serve as the senior finance leader and strategic business partner to the President, executive leadership, and operating teams.
• Oversee all finance and accounting activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, controls, audit support, tax coordination, and business analysis.
• Build annual budgets, rolling forecasts, long-range financial models, and performance dashboards that support profitable growth and informed decision-making.
• Partner with the President and Executive Team to help shape company strategy, evaluate growth opportunities, and support long-term business decisions.
• Partner with operations to improve forecasting accuracy, margin discipline, cost control, labor productivity visibility, and project execution.
• Lead cash forecasting and working capital management, including billing cadence, collections, retainage, payables, vendor terms, and contract milestone tracking.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience, including senior-level responsibility in a multisite environment.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with operational leaders to improve profitability, cash flow, forecasting, project execution, and business performance.
• Experience leading monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit support, tax coordination, internal controls, and management reporting.
• Proven experience managing and developing finance and accounting teams.
• Strong systems aptitude, including ERP, project accounting, reporting, and business intelligence tools; experience with process automation or system implementation is preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
