Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Vice President of Finance in the Chicago area. You will join the executive leadership team as a strategic partner to the CEO, overseeing financial planning, reporting, treasury, and operations to support growth.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in progressive finance leadership, strong analytics, and experience guiding organizational growth initiatives. CPA/CMA/MBA preferred; excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing finance and accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership and influencing business decisions.
• Demonstrated success leading financial process improvements and organizational growth initiatives.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization's financial strategy, planning, and analysis efforts.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
• Provide executive leadership with actionable financial insights and business recommendations.
• Direct budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and long-range planning activities.
• Partner with business leaders to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Oversee treasury, banking relationships, debt management, and capital allocation strategies.
• Lead internal and external audit activities.
• Develop and strengthen financial controls, policies, and risk management processes.
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing finance and accounting teams.
• Evaluate and enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence capabilities.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and other strategic transactions as needed.
• Present financial results and recommendations to executive leadership, boards, and investors when applicable.

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and growing organization in the Chicago area, is seeking a Vice President of Finance to join its executive leadership team. This position will serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO and executive leadership team while overseeing all aspects of financial planning, reporting, forecasting, treasury management, and financial operations.

The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of progressive finance leadership with experience driving business performance, enhancing financial processes, and supporting organizational growth. Candidates with a combination of public accounting, corporate finance, and executive leadership experience will be highly considered.
