Zusammenfassung

The Women’s Refugee Commission seeks a Vice President of External Engagement to expand revenue and elevate the organization’s visibility in the field. Based in New York with hybrid flexibility, you will lead fundraising and communications across major gifts, foundations, and media relations.

You will manage a high-performing team, shape strategy, and partner with the ED and Board to advance the mission through integrated external engagement and storytelling.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of nonprofit fundraising and/or external relations experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven success leading integrated development functions (individual and institutional giving).
• Experience engaging with journalists and media; strong storytelling ability.
• Experience leading communications/marketing functions; familiarity with brand strategy and media relations.
• Public spokesperson with experience presenting at high-profile events.

Aufgaben

• Strategy & Leadership: develop multi-year external engagement plan; set annual fundraising and comms goals; lead a high-performing team.
• Individual Giving: design and oversee (major gifts, mid-level, annual fund, planned giving) with monthly/annual revenue targets.
• Institutional Giving: lead foundations, corporations, and government fundraising; manage proposals and reporting.
• Communications, Brand & Visibility: craft messages, manage media relations, align calendar with campaigns.
• Data, Systems & Operations: oversee budgets, CRM use, analytics for segmentation and reporting.
• Board & External Partnerships: guide Board development and build partnerships with peers and stakeholders.
