GENERAL OVERVIEW OF POSITION

The Vice President of Event Services leads and manages the Event Services department, acting as the cornerstone of operational excellence and client success. Reporting directly to the President, this role oversees the department's team members, processes, and client relationships. The Vice President of Event Services will ensure the successful delivery of events while continually refining department workflows, team accountability, and execution standards.

This individual will foster strong relationships with clients and oversee all aspects of the Event Services department, from strategic planning to execution. As a visionary and hands-on leader, the Vice President will ensure that MCW Events continues to scale efficiently while maintaining its commitment to excellence: "how we do one thing is how we do everything."

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $200,000 - $230,000

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Department Management

Lead and manage the Event Services department (10+ individuals), including all team members, ensuring accountability, engagement, and alignment with MCW Events' vision.
Oversee the development, refinement, and implementation of the Event Services Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Champion operational excellence and process improvement throughout the department.
Monitor team performance and ensure tasks are executed to the highest standard.
Client Relationship Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for 2 - 4 key accounts, fostering strong relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
Rapidly build credibility with clients by deeply understanding their needs and delivering tailored event strategies that produce measurable results.
Maintain oversight of client expectations and deliverables, ensuring seamless event execution.
Manage client-facing tools and platforms, and ensure team proficiency in their usage.
Strategically address and remove obstacles or barriers to execution for both clients and internal teams.
Team Leadership & Accountability

Lead, inspire, and motivate the Event Services team to achieve excellence in all aspects of their roles.
Collaborate and report to the President; delivering timely, data-driven updates on event operations, financial performance, client feedback, and strategic initiatives; provide actionable insights to support executive decisions and company growth
Create systems to ensure team accountability, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Mentor team members, providing regular feedback and supporting their professional growth.
Monitor team workload and allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines and priorities.
Operational Excellence

Establish and enforce high standards of execution and professionalism within the department.
Continually refine department processes to align with MCW Events' growth and scalability goals.
Foster a culture of innovation and problem-solving within the team.
Uphold MCW Events’ philosophy of “how we do one thing is how we do everything.”
Execution

Drive the successful execution of events by ensuring all processes and resources are aligned.
Identify and resolve operational challenges proactively.
Collaborate with other MCW Events departments to ensure cross-functional alignment.
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in event management, project management, or related fields.
4+ years event agency experience required with deep knowledge and understanding of the events industry
10+ years of experience in event planning and account management.
8+ years of experience in team leadership and direct team management with a minimum of (4) direct reports.
Expertise in creating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Exceptional client relationship management skills, with a proven ability to manage high-profile accounts.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and hold team members accountable.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the ability to remove obstacles to success.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong collaboration skills with a positive, “can-do” attitude.
Commitment to personal and professional growth, as well as that of your team.
A proven ability to maintain calm and focus under pressure.
Strong understanding of event management tools and software.
