Vice President, Equipment Procurement and Supply Chain

Fleet Data Centers are a team of digital infrastructure experts dedicated to accelerating responsible data center growth by creating master-planned data center parks with access to pre-positioned power and fiber in key markets where hyperscale and wholesale demand is going. Fleet Datacenters development team builds engineers and construct data centers at these parks, providing customers with the one-stop shop for timely top class data center infrastructure to power their business growth.

Position Overview:

The Vice President, Equipment Procurement and Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing equipment procurement and supply chain operations of the organization. This role reports directly to the EVP Supply Chain and CFO and owns the strategic sourcing of all mechanical and electrical equipment required for delivery of data centers, continuous improvement of on-time delivery and quality performance, management of supplier relationships, and continuous improvement of the supply chain to support the company’s growth objectives. This individual collaborates with key stakeholders across various departments, including Design and Engineering, Construction, logistics, legal and finance, to drive operational efficiency, cost reductions, and risk mitigation while ensuring product quality and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Promote continuous professional development, ensuring the team stays current with industry trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy to support the company’s objectives, driving cost reductions, supplier performance, and quality improvement.
  • Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting processes to ensure favorable terms, minimize risk, and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Analyze market trends, identify risks, and assess opportunities to optimize sourcing strategies.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost, quality, delivery, and innovation.
  • Drive continuous cost-reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier development, and process improvements.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions, supplier dependencies and environmental factors.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws and regulations, including environmental standards, labor practices, and trade regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or MS in Supply Chain) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Led Procurement organization at scale ($500M+ of contract negotiations annually).
  • Deep experience with sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management within the data center equipment industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of driving cost reductions and operational efficiencies in a complex environment.
  • Experience managing data center infrastructure supply chains in global or multi-national organizations.
