Job Summary:

The Vice President, Environmental Health, Safety & Operational Risk provides strategic and operational leadership for environmental health, safety, quality, and risk management across Support Services, with a primary focus on the rapidly growing Data Centers business.

The role operates across Support Services environments that may include data centers, mission-critical and critical environments, facilities management and integrated facilities management, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor and cleanroom operations, life sciences, healthcare facilities, construction, commissioning, capital projects, industrial operations, infrastructure, utilities, and other 24/7 hard-services and engineering operations.

This leader establishes enterprise standards, programs, and performance objectives that protect employees, contractors, clients, and customers while enabling safe growth, operational reliability, and consistent execution. The VP serves as a senior advisor to Support Services leadership and partners with Operations, Engineering, Construction, Facilities, Human Resources, Procurement, Legal, and client leadership.

This is a remote role and may be based near any major airport in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities:

EHS Strategy, Governance & Risk Management

  • Lead the EHS and operational risk strategy for Support Services, with particular emphasis on data centers, mission-critical facilities, critical environments, and complex technical operations.
  • Establish scalable EHS policies, management systems, programs, and performance expectations that can be consistently applied across diverse operating environments and client requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate current and emerging risks associated with new technologies, capital projects, client transitions, acquisitions, and evolving operating models.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, client, and company requirements; serve as the senior resource for significant EHS and operational risk matters.
  • Establish minimum contractor selection criteria based on safety performance, capabilities, regulatory history, staffing, training, and subcontractor controls.
Operational Readiness, Construction & Commissioning
  • Integrate EHS requirements into project development, construction, commissioning, mobilization, operational readiness, site launches, and ongoing 24/7 operations.
  • Provide leadership for electrical safety, contractor safety, high-risk activities, emergency preparedness, life safety, incident management, and other risks associated with hard services and engineering operations.
  • Establish governance for contractor and vendor qualification, onboarding, performance management, audits, corrective action, and continuous improvement.

Performance, Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish meaningful EHS KPIs, dashboards, reporting, and assurance processes to identify trends, measure performance, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide oversight of incident investigations, crisis response, root-cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions; ensure lessons learned are shared across Support Services.
  • Partner with clients and senior leaders to establish shared EHS expectations and risk-management strategies for critical and complex operating environments.
  • Provide EHS leadership and due diligence for new business, strategic pursuits, client transitions, mobilizations, acquisitions, and other growth initiatives.
  • Build and develop a high-performing EHS organization and strengthen safety leadership capability throughout the business.
  • Promote a culture in which safety, risk management, quality, and operational excellence are integrated into business decisions rather than managed as separate compliance activities.
  • Provide oversight, where applicable, of specialized safety and quality programs, including food safety, HACCP, preventive controls, GMPs, supplier quality, and related regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, Quality, or a related field preferred.
