Vice President - Employee Benefits (Growth & Strategy)

Location: Remote + travel

Position Overview

We are hiring a Vice President of Employee Benefits to lead growth in this vertical and help shape the future of the firm. This is an ideal role for a licensed producer or senior client executive ready to take the next step — someone who wants to move beyond production and start building and owning a practice.

You’ll be responsible for driving new business, managing key client relationships, and helping define how ERS delivers and scales its benefits platform. You won’t inherit a big team — but you’ll help build one.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of business development and growth for the employee benefits vertical
  • Originate and close new business opportunities, particularly in the private equity and middle-market space
  • Maintain and grow client relationships, serving as the senior advisor across strategy, cost, and compliance
  • Collaborate with ERS leadership on delivery, carrier negotiations, and positioning
  • Contribute to the long-term strategy and infrastructure needed to scale the benefits practice
  • Serve as a foundational leader and voice for the firm’s EB growth
Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid Life & Health Insurance License (active and in good standing)
  • 7+ years of experience in employee benefits — with a strong background in sales or strategic account leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to win and grow business independently
  • Private equity or middle-market experience preferred, but not required
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable with ambiguity, driven by ownership
  • Excellent communication and executive presence — confident engaging CFOs, CEOs, and HR leaders
