Job summary

Delta Dental of Iowa seeks a Vice President, Dental Director to lead clinical policy, drive evidence-based practice, and strengthen relationships across the dental profession in Iowa.

You will guide payment policy, quality assurance, and disease management initiatives while serving as a key spokesperson for the organization in public and professional settings. Travel up to 50% across Iowa and neighboring states.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Dental Science or Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from an accredited college of dentistry.
• State of Iowa licensure, or willingness to obtain, required.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present and act as spokesperson.
• Knowledge of evidence-based dentistry, disease management, oral wellness, and populations with special needs.
• Familiarity with dental quality assurance programs and data interpretation for decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Identify emerging technologies and trends and provide analysis and recommendations.
• Review data and current practice to guide payment policy and clinical review.
• Lead clinical policy, credentialing standards, and professional review processes for claims.
• Oversee quality assurance programs with metrics to measure care quality.
• Represent DDIA externally and advocate for appropriate dental care and benefits.
• Travel up to 50% of the time throughout Iowa and potentially other states.
