About The Role
We are seeking an exceptional Vice President, Corporate Portfolio Management to build and lead a global team of 10–15 experienced program managers responsible for executing our most critical initiatives. You will inherit and evolve an existing team while also shaping future capability through targeted hiring and talent development. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for defining, building, and scaling an outstanding portfolio management capability that can effectively orchestrate large-scale enterprise-wide change programs including M&A integrations and complex transformation initiatives.
The VP will be part of the enterprise-wide planning process and will own the transformation roadmap and execution of that plan. You will drive the complete revamp of our project management function while leading a high-performing team of program managers executing our most critical and high-value initiatives. This role requires a leader who thrives in ambiguous environments, can operate seamlessly across global time zones, and has extensive experience managing the complexities of merger and acquisition integrations. You will work closely with project leaders globally to assess current capabilities, streamline processes, and consolidate operations where possible, ensuring our portfolio management approach drives maximum value realization and strategic alignment across the enterprise, while minimizing unnecessary processes. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing and helping to drive our company-wide transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment between portfolio delivery and broader organizational change objectives.

Strategic Function Leadership
What You’ll Be Doing in the Role
- Define and architect the future state of corporate portfolio management, establishing the function as a center of excellence for enterprise-wide change delivery
- Serve as a key strategic advisor contributing to executive decision-making and organizational strategy
- Lead the complete transformation and elevation of our project management capabilities to handle complex, large-scale programs
Enterprise Portfolio Orchestration
- Design and implement integrated portfolio frameworks that align strategic initiatives, M&A integrations, and transformation programs with business objectives
- Establish governance models, investment evaluation criteria, and value realization tracking across the enterprise portfolio
- Create standardized delivery methodologies that can scale across diverse project types and global operations
M&A Integration Excellence
- Lead portfolio management for merger and acquisition integrations, ensuring seamless execution of deal models and synergy realization
- Develop and implement synergy tracking mechanisms, value capture processes, and integration milestone management
- Partner with corporate development, finance, and business units to ensure M&A programs deliver committed value within planned timelines
Global Team Leadership & Development
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of program managers executing the organization's most critical initiatives
- Establish talent development programs and succession planning for the portfolio management function
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across the global project management community
Process Transformation & Standardization
- Conduct comprehensive assessment of current project management capabilities across global operations
- Streamline and consolidate project management approaches, eliminating redundancies and optimizing resource allocation
- Implement enterprise-wide standards, tools, and methodologies that improve delivery predictability and value realization
Stakeholder Alignment & Communication
- Serve as the primary interface between portfolio delivery and executive leadership, providing transparent reporting on progress, risks, and outcomes
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment across business units, geographies, and functional teams
- Drive change management initiatives to ensure adoption of new portfolio management practices and governance models
Performance Management & Value Delivery
- Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms that provide real-time visibility into portfolio health and value delivery
- Implement risk management frameworks that proactively identify and mitigate program risks and interdependencies
- Ensure consistent delivery of committed business outcomes and financial returns across the portfolio
Qualifications/Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field; preferred Masters or MBA in Business or related field
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in portfolio management, program delivery, or transformation roles
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience leading M&A integration programs, with demonstrated success in synergy realization and deal model execution
- Proven track record building and scaling portfolio management functions in large, complex organizations including building career development process for project management talent
- Experience leading enterprise-wide transformations and large-scale change programs ($50M+ program budgets preferred) particularly system transformations involving ERP (SAP or Oracle/NetSuite) and CRM (Salesforce)
Knowledge & Skills
- M&A Integration Expertise: Deep experience in merger integration planning, synergy identification and tracking, and post-merger value realization
- Portfolio Management Mastery: Proven ability to design and implement enterprise portfolio management frameworks, governance models, and delivery methodologies
- Global Leadership: Experience managing teams and programs across multiple time zones and cultural contexts
- Transformation Leadership: Track record of successfully leading organizational change initiatives and capability building programs
- Executive Presence: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence and align senior leadership
- Analytical Rigor: Data-driven approach to decision making with experience in financial modeling, ROI analysis, and performance measurement
- Certifications Preferred: PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or equivalent program/portfolio management credentials; Lean/Six Sigma a plus
- Technology Fluency: Experience with portfolio management tools including Smartsheet, Atlassian, Planview and VSM tools such as LucidChart and Miro. Experience with various data analytics platforms and modern project delivery methodologies.
