Job description

Company description

At GroupeConnect, we think content is more than words on a page. The best copy helps people understand, decide, act, and move forward with confidence. That is especially true when the subject matter is complex.

We are looking for a Vice President Content Director to support digital experiences for a major financial services client. This person will write short and long-form content across a wide range of experiences, audiences, and products, from consumer banking and investing to small and midsize business, commercial, and institutional solutions.

This is not a production, only writing role. We're looking for someone who can ask smart questions, synthesize information from multiple sources, identify content gaps, and help shape the story behind the experience. You will work closely with content strategists and designers to create copy that supports the broader experience. You will not be responsible for owning information architecture or user journeys, but you will have a seat at the table and a voice in the conversation.

Your background might be in journalism, publishing, editorial, advertising, UX writing, or something we have not thought of yet. What matters most is that you are a talented writer, a thoughtful collaborator, and someone who can make complicated things feel simple.

Sound good? Good.

This role is a part-time position, approximately 20hrs/week
What you will do
  • Write and edit original content for websites, landing pages, digital products, tools, resource centers, and customer experiences
  • Translate complex financial topics into clear, compelling, customer-friendly language
  • Create content for audiences ranging from individual consumers to small businesses and large organizations
  • Collaborate closely with designers, content strategists, experience strategists, technologists, and client partners
  • Adapt content for different audiences, channels, and stages of the customer journey
  • Independently fill information gaps through research, synthesis, SMEs, etc.
  • Present and defend content recommendations with clients and internal teams
  • Balance customer needs, business goals, brand standards, accessibility requirements, and regulatory considerations
  • Incorporate feedback while maintaining content quality and strategic intent
  • Sweat the details while never losing sight of the bigger picture
A few things we want to see in you
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • The ability to make complex ideas feel approachable and easy to understand
  • A clear understanding of how content and design work together
  • Comfort working in ambiguous environments where designs, requirements, and information are still evolving
  • Editorial rigor, attention to detail, and responsibility for maintaining accuracy, consistency, legal compliance, and quality
  • Versatility across long-form thought leadership, resource guides, landing pages, product content, and digital experiences
  • Comfort collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • The ability to organize, execute, and defend the work
  • Curiosity, empathy, and informed opinions
  • A low-ego, collaborative approach to problem solving
  • A creative skill I would not have thought to list here
The ideal candidate will have
  • A portfolio of relevant work showcasing exceptional digital writing and content development
  • At least 10 years of professional writing experience
  • Experience writing for websites, digital products, or customer experiences
  • Experience working closely with UX, design, product, or digital teams
  • Exceptional skills writing both short- and long-form content
  • Experience simplifying highly technical, regulated, or complex subject matter
  • Financial services, banking, investing, fintech, or B2B experience preferred
  • Journalism, editorial, publishing, or newsroom experience a plus
  • Awareness of current digital experience, content, and technology trends
