Prime Data Centers in Lockhart, Texas, is seeking a Vice President of Construction to lead end-to-end delivery of development projects, from planning and design through commissioning and handoff to operations across multiple regions.

The role partners with Sales, Operations, Acquisitions, Engineering, and Finance to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with strategic business objectives.

About the role

The Vice President of Construction is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Prime Data Centers' development projects, overseeing all phases from planning and design through commissioning and handoff to operations. This executive leader partners closely with Sales, Operations, Acquisitions, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

What you'll do

• Lead construction delivery across all phases including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Oversee construction operations across multiple regions and concurrent projects.
• Drive schedule, cost, quality, and safety performance across the project portfolio.
• Establish and implement construction standards, processes, and best practices.

Team Management

• Build, lead, and develop high-performing construction and project management teams.
• Manage resource allocation and project workloads across multiple business units.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Own CAPEX budgets, forecasting, financial controls, and reporting.
• Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining operational sustainability.
• Partner with Finance and Development teams to optimize project costs and schedules.
• Manage contractor, consultant, and vendor relationships.
• Lead procurement, negotiations, and performance management activities.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in client-facing activities and support customer engagements.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, regulatory, permitting, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Lead commissioning activities and transition completed facilities to operations teams.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and lessons-learned programs for future projects.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• 15+ years of progressive construction experience.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale, mission-critical projects.
• Proven experience delivering high-value construction projects on schedule and within budget.
• Strong experience managing large CAPEX programs and complex contractor relationships.
• Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams.

Preferred

• Knowledge of hyperscale and colocation data center environments.
• Experience with commissioning, mission-critical infrastructure, and multi-site construction programs.
• Deep understanding of construction safety, permitting, and compliance requirements.

Ideal

• Background with hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical, industrial, or large infrastructure projects.
• Strong financial and operational acumen.
• Proven ability to scale teams across multiple geographic regions.
