Job summary

The National Bank of Indianapolis is seeking a Vice President & Commercial Banker to join our Commercial Banking team in Indianapolis, IN. You will develop and manage a portfolio of commercial banking relationships, delivering thoughtful credit solutions and connecting clients with resources across the Bank.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in lending and business development, strong knowledge of middle-market lending, and a proven ability to build long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or banking, or equivalent educational experience.
• Five or more years of successful lending and business development experience.
• Proven middle market lending knowledge; formal commercial credit training preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable banking laws and regulations.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with a high degree of professionalism.
• Active involvement in community and civic activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other standard business applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial banking relationships, deliver credit solutions.
• Analyze borrower financial performance, repayment capacity, and collateral to make sound credit decisions.
• Monitor loan performance and maintain regular contact with clients to identify needs and address potential concerns.
• Prepare and present commercial loan requests in accordance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure loans are properly documented and risk ratings remain accurate throughout the relationship.
• Partner with Treasury Management and other areas of the Bank to provide comprehensive financial solutions.
• Cultivate relationships with clients and prospects through regular contact, events, and follow-up.
• Promote the Bank in the community through active involvement in community activities and civic organizations.
